....We the people are not the subjects of government. Government should be the subject to the people, Perry said in a townhall at Granite State Manufacturing.
Perry repeated his plan to organize a part-time citizen Congress, institute term limits for federal judges and upend the bureaucracy in Washington, D.C.
The GOP candidate criticized the Washington power structure.
Im reminded of what one of your citizens of New Hampshire, Granite Stater by the name of P.J. ORourke once said: Giving money and power to government is like giving teenagers whiskey and car keys. This election the American people, they want the car keys back, Perry said.
Perry acknowledged that his new plan might be criticized by some in the nations capital, but he argued his intention isnt to please the establishment.
My wife and my family and pretty much I think the dogs love me, Perry said. Im not going to Washington D.C. to make any friends. Im going to Washington D.C. to make a difference. I love this country.
....Im the outsider whos willing to step on some toes. I want to force Congress to balance the budget, and if they dont, I say cut their pay and send them home, Perry said....

Gov. Perry wants the border SEALED and NO amnesty. A border governor can only do so much when the Federal government refuses to secure the U.S. international border. But I wouldn’t call you STUPID or STOOPID or stupido for not understanding what it’s like in border states because it’s obvious a lot of people are merely ignorant about it.
Thanks for the info. I didn’t know he’d been back running so long.
I saw the ad the other morning on Fox. Did you know he “gave” Fox $1 Million? — looks like Perry BOUGHT some ad time.
Not following that post. $1-mil on an ad buy. So what?
I like the ad! That’s all that matters.
Texas is open for business. We create jobs down here. We don't tax people to death down here. We limit litigation down here. We allow concealed carry down here. We balance our budget every 2 years down here. We respect the hell out of the 10th Amendment down here. Yup, I can see why people call it over rated.
Let respect for this country and its sovereignty (laws borders etc...) be a prerequisite for friendly relations with any country. Right now Mexico fails that test!
In 2007, Felipe Calderon, president of Mexico, denounced "unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government " against Mexicans illegally in the U.S. and declared: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."The fact that their is a profit to be made in trade does not justify allowing US sovereignty to be challenged and ignored! At one time no American politician would allow it.
In 2004, Vicente Fox, then president of Mexico, stated: "We are Mexicans that live in our territories and we are Mexicans that live in other territories. In reality, we are 120 million people that live together and are working together to construct a nation."
In 1998, Jose Pescador Osuna, then-consul general of Mexico, admitted: "We are practicing La Reconquista in California."
In 1997, Ernesto Zedillo, then president of Mexico, proclaimed: "I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important a very important part of it."
And the goal of improving the living standards and education of Mexicans does not seem so lofty when the vast majority consider the US southwest to rightfully belong to Mexico and don't believe that require US permission to travel or reside their. At one time some similarly argued that if we improve the living standard and education of Muslims they would not hate or attack us. That really worked didn't it!
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Or even worse: dual nationality makes them also 90-100 million voters in Mexican or other foreign elections! Whose loyalty or at best also divided.
As crucial as are so many issues, none so certainly rises to that of an EXISTENCIAL threat to very survival of a sovereign America. A mistake on those other issues will cause untold damage, but they all have a possibility of correction (even if at a huge cost) by future Americans.
But if we fail to confront an illegal alien invasion - that has no precent in our long history of LEGAL immigration - their is no correction, no stopping the tide nor sending them back later; we follow the fate of Rome at the hands of the barbarians. Or is the PC historical term now "undocumented Roman?"
Do those people have some sort of device implanted in their brains so that whenever C.W. makes a post they jump on it to post mindless insults.
Who do they think they are helping by this?
If their candidate is Cain, they’d better run on over to the Cain threads, because their guy could use a little defending right now.
Fortunately, their posts display such ignorance and repetition, they don’t bother me any more. They used to.
Any politician who does not get that is not ignorant but stupid or delusional or both.
There are people on this forum who hate Texas.
Don’t ask me why, cuz I don’t know.
Aaahhh.... thank G-d someone else gets it.
> "Whose loyalty or at best is also divided"
"illegal alien invasion - that has no precentdent in our long history of LEGAL immigration "
Don’t you love the posters who say Perry is so done; Perry is toast; Maybe Perry is not just toast but toaster crumbs, blah, blah 6 percenter, blah, blah.
AND YET,
here they are, showing their hatred and FEAR of Perry, with fear being the operative word.
I wouldn't leave this state unless I absolutely had to. Why on earth would I want to move to another state and have a state income tax?
Did you see the picture of Perry confronting Obama with a letter asking for help on the border?
States cannot do this and shouldn’t have to.
If we can send a man to the moon (to use a hackneyed phrase) we should be able to figure out a way to shut down the border.
Perry has a good plan but it has to be implemented nationally.
Texas will go blue when pigs fly out of your lower orifice.
Perry implemented Voter ID, along with many, many other good things.
