Rick Perry Takes ‘Uproot’ Plan On The Road - “I’m not going to Washington D.C. to make any friends"

....“We the people are not the subjects of government. Government should be the subject to the people,” Perry said in a townhall at Granite State Manufacturing.

Perry repeated his plan to organize a part-time citizen Congress, institute term limits for federal judges and upend the bureaucracy in Washington, D.C.

The GOP candidate criticized the Washington power structure.

“I’m reminded of what one of your citizens of New Hampshire, Granite Stater by the name of P.J. O’Rourke once said: ‘Giving money and power to government is like giving teenagers whiskey and car keys.’ This election the American people, they want the car keys back,” Perry said.

Perry acknowledged that his new plan might be criticized by some in the nation’s capital, but he argued his intention isn’t to please the establishment.

“My wife and my family and pretty much I think the dogs love me,” Perry said. “I’m not going to Washington D.C. to make any friends. I’m going to Washington D.C. to make a difference. I love this country.”

....“I’m the outsider who’s willing to step on some toes. I want to force Congress to balance the budget, and if they don’t, I say cut their pay and send them home,” Perry said....

“I’m not going to Washington D.C.....”

Call me “heartless”, but he should have ended the sentence right there.

“I’m not going to Washington D.C. to make any friends"

Too bad he has gone to Mexico City to make friends. And he remains unrepentant over it!

For me that is a deal breaker.

Don't you just love the tired old worn out attacks against Governor Rick coming from the Cain folks? When your candidate is revealed to be an empty suit who is only partially qualified to hold the office for which he is running, you have to tear down his opponents--which is being done now by the Cainiacs.

If you love a candidate or you hate a candidate, you have left the realm of objective reason and entered the twilight zone of liberal emotionalism

I understand, but why give non governors a pass. Gingrich is for parts of the wet dream act, is for global warming/cap and tax etc. How do you think these non governors would have done if they ran a state??? Governors have executive track record to check out, what do senators and congressmen have, yes, no, and present?

Too bad he has gone to Mexico City to make friends. And he remains unrepentant over it!

Perry is a border governor with a 1250 mile INTERNATIONAL border with Mexico. Texas does a lot of business with Mexico. Mexico is the number one trading partner with the U.S. Of course he meets with presidents of Mexico. He has worked to persuade Mexico to build a middle class.

Gov also has tried to meet with the president of the United States and he got the brush off -- and this request for more border security help (we Texans have put $400 Million and boots on the ground out of our on money) was handed to Valerie Jarret.

I'm sure that Obama didn't say these things to La Raza:

Gov Rick Perry spoke to LaRaza about the drug cartels, shared responsibility of border security and that it is Washington's responsibility to secure the border -- that the Federal government should support the military, deliver the mail and secure the border -- and they aren't doing their job. [HE RECEIVED a lot of applause] He spoke of the money Texas spends securing the border, that it must be sealed and then we can sustain legitimate commerce...He told about protecting the sanctity of the vote and strengthening our shared values, family, faith, hard work -- they are TEXAS values and we should unite as citizen's of one Nation under God and concentrate on what unites us. He told his Cuervo joke and they found it funny unlike the Liberal Latino Leaders Give Perry Lukewarm Response (or more likely they'd heard it before)

Hoooold on there, varmint!

“...over rated state of TX”??!!

Your profile page doesn’t even list your state.

You’re from what state? And Texas is “over rated” in what ways?

Do you mind explaining that?

>>>>>>I’m going to Washington D.C. to make a difference.

Right now that is a long shot.

In the end, looks like all conservatives will be disappointed with who becomes the next GOP nominee.

2008 redux!

What do you think about Rick Perry's 3 part policy proposal? Have you had the opportunity to look it over? I've linked them in the first post above.

So you want a president who refuses to leave the country or one who refuses to make friends and allies of other countries? I’m confused which one?

I have some gripes with Perry but not being some kind of nutty Ron Paul isolationist is not one of them.

“I’m not going to Washington D.C.

Fixed it for him. The title looks much better with just this. He is so done. I find it funny that you are hanging on. HE WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE PRESIDENT.

ALL of Perry's proposals are conservative. I haven't seen one that I disagree with in principle.

Its just getting a little too late in the process for Perry to turn support back his way and regain top tier status. Just like in 2008, the GOP primary electorate are being fickle once again. Paul at 19% in Iowa?! Give me a break! LOL

Perry running in SC Nov 12, 2011

The media made a big deal out of Perry’s back surgery in July .
It was deemed “ controversial “ because his surgeon used adult stem cells and the procedure was not considered appropriate by some
of the surgeons the media contacted.
The way the media hyperventilated over the surgery , you would have thought he was snorting coke in the back of a limo with Larry Sinclair or something.
Anyway, the procedure was supposed to help Perry heal faster.
Obviously it did , he’s been running since September.

Exactly...apparently Perry is too STUPID to understand that 30 million illegals will turn into 90-100 million hispanic democrat voters in a generation....hence a one party socialist Republic. The dagger through the heart of the former USA.

Immigration must be halted and anchor baby citizenship revoked to 1990 levels. Or it's game over.
