Long time Freeper "Lazmataz", a beloved and cherished staple of the conservative website Free Republic, yesterday was accused by several female Freepers of somehow annoying them, and making them feel uncomfortable.
"Laz," as he's affectionately known on the website, absolutely denied the charges. "It's all an attempt to smear me. Everyone knows that I'm running for "Admin Moderator" next year, and they're trying to discredit me.
Others, when they complained to FR founder Jim Robinson, were summarily banned by him from FR, although the reason he gave was that they advocated for Rudy Guiliani's candidacy in 2008.
Robinson was quick to dismiss these alleged charges. "Look" he said, "half the people on FR drive the other half crazy, every day. It's just what conservatives do. We eat our own. And eveyone knows that anyone who supported Rudy, or now supports Mitt, just can't be a real, live, red-blooded American female. So how can we take seriously these stupid charges."
The most common complaint against Laz was his constant and near monomaniacal offer to "Hit It"( the "it" in question being just about every picture of a female ever posted on the website) though in Laz's defense, he said that he never offered to "hit" Helen Thomas or Hillary Clinton. "However," he offered, after a few beers, "Maureen Dowd does sometimes turn me on."
More stories are coming in that Laz repeatedly made suggestive comments to female Freepers.
It's as yet unconfirmed that he even dated a few of them, and reportedly married one. Investigative reporters are now scouring the internet attempting to track down the putative ex Mrs. Laz. If she exists, and is willing to talk on the record, well, some suggest it could be devastating for the Freeper all-star.
The overwhelmingly majority of Freepers were quick to rush to Laz' defense, saying that this is all an attempt to ruin the good name of a really nice, decent, guy.
One, who didn't want to speak on the record, ( because she's considering a run for a House seat) said that Laz is a "really sensitive, misunderstood, though somewhat tormented soul. He loves to post pics of his firearms, and talk about them, but he also composes the most delicate and eloquent haikus."
Support remains strong for Laz on FR. There are constant references to him on the many threads, and Freepers are making record contributions to FR's quarterly fundraising drive to show that they support Laz.
"Look," said Laz. "I'm not going to talk about this anymore. My enemies aren't going to deflect me from running for Admin Moderator. Let me just say that I LIKE WOMEN. Always have, always will. I'm convinced that this malicious campaing against me was started by the Ron Paul supporters here on FR. Youc an't reason with them. Their candidate is crazy, so it stands to reason that they're also nuts."
"Let me add this one final comment. If there are any female Freepers out there that I've somehow disappointed, well, darlings, just FReepmail me, and I promise to do better next time."

Yes, I am one of the offended females. One time - well it is so horrific I cannot even bring myself to type it. Just know this: I was brought to tears. He should pay a heavy price but I am too upset to talk about it.

I was on a thread 12 years ago where Laz was asking female freepers inappropriate questions! It was shocking. I knew one day this would come out!

I heard that a woman drove Laz to drink, and he didn’t even have the decency to thank her.
I saw ‘Laz’ lovingly looking at a Romney photo once.

He once told me I was the same height as his ex-wife, then made an obscene gesture when he was describing her height.
She was, apparently, very short.
What I’m concerned about is how Laz will handle this scandal.
Will Laz be just a novice Freeper or will his team come out with an effective strategy to handle the news shattering SCANDAL.
