What format are you converting to pdf.
I use Primo pdf. Anything that you can print can be converted to a pdf.
I use Primo pdf. Anything that you can print can be converted to a pdf.
OpenOffice or LibreOffice both do it with a mere menu click.
Adobe Reader has a “Save As” option that let’s you save a file as plain (ASCII) text. My guess is that you can do just about anything with it once it’s in ASCII.
What are you converting? From what to what?....
I have used both doPDF and CutePDF, both free and easy to use.
OpenOffice can do it, and it’s free.
Irfanview [freeware] can save ‘graphics’ into PDFs.
doPDF and similar products [many freeware] use your computer printing function to ‘print’ an application file as a PDF.

It depends on your FROM/TO formats.
Converting to PDF or converting from PDF?
I am converting SCANNED gif docs when I right click OPEN WITH and I click OPEN WITH ADOBE READER it says file corrupt won’t do it.I need scanned gif docs bundled into various PDF’s i e....docs for a closing that I scanned.
JAN.PAYSTUB FEB PAYSTUB and so on... need put together as ONE PDF.
If you’re trying to convert a PDF doc into an editable doc (for Word or some other program), you could try the ABBYY PDF Transformer. It’s available on line (http://pdftransformer.abbyy.com/) and while it’s not free, there’s an evaluation period that would solve your problems right now and give you a chance to see if you like it.
It works beautifully and gives you editable documents even when the original text quality is not very good. And of course, you can also use it to create PDFs.
.
To convert TO a PDF there are a lot that act like print spoolers and you add it like a printer.
To convert FROM a PDF the select all copy paste works unless it is protected.
Other than that you’ll probably Pay $$$.
I use doPDF for the same thing. Printing to PDF is a very handy feature.
Adobe reader wont read .gif files.
Do you have Microsoft office?
Microsoft Word will take the gif files and save them in pdf format. Yo have to import all the gifs as pics into a MS Word doc then save as............
cute pdf is the best IMHO.
OpenOffice is awesome, because it will convert Excel files to PDF, in batch mode....bailed me out on a project I was working on, it’s worked perfectly.
Let me know if you find something that will convert multiple image files into one PDF.
