What do they want? Theyre not really sure.
When do they want it? For a couple of months, or until the weather gets too cold, anyway.
A bunch of adrift Alinskyites and disorganized organizers from a group called Adbusters are converging in New York City for some reason or other. Theyre bringing tents, sleeping bags, yoga instructors, face paint and at some point, theyll get around to deciding what their one demand is:
On Saturday thousands of us will occupy Wall Street. We will wave our signs, unfurl our banners, beat our drums, chant our slogans and then well get down to business and hold several peoples assemblies to decide what our one demand will be.
Shall we demand that President Obama reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act; outlaw flash trading; impose a 1% tax on all financial transactions?
These are good ideas but not very energizing.
How about we demand the revocation of corporate personhood?
Feels a bit too abstract. Many Americans dont fully grasp whats at stake with this one. And besides, even if he wants to, President Obama cannot deliver this immediately. In the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling, a reform project like this requires a constitutional amendment that would take a few years and a whole movement to achieve.
We could demand Obama set up an American Democracy Reform Commission tasked with ending the monied corruption in Washington? Or perhaps a Presidential Commission to rethink the American banking system?

LMAO!
It’s being discussed among Anons in this thread. Doesn’t look that big a deal. Mainly just by-standers in some of the pics.

I had fun over at one of the live feeds that had a chat area. It was wide open for the hour I was on then they started banning people..I got the boot when I kept saying McDonalds, I’m loving it! Shop at Walmarts! haha.
Dont take the brown acid, man.
...now becomes...
Dont take the brown antacid, man.
“We are legion.”

Top Ten Reasons Legion Will Attend the Day of Rage
10. Rage: it’s what We do.
9. It’s a great place to meet succubi.
8. We know they’ll have a hell of a band.
7. “Dudes! I can’t make it. My Anti-Chrysler’s been re-possessed.” Beelzebubba
6. Give us what We want and ... We’ll be back next week with more demands.
5. Pigs. Hippies. We think We preferred swine, but whatcha gonna do. Will there be snacks? Who planned ...
4. We’ll be there as soon as We clean up our room. Dad said so.
3. Hell, hell the gang’s all here.
2. We don’t have anything else to do.
and the #1. reason
1. These are Our people.
No, you are nuts.
I’m almost embarrassed for them.
You can bet the Idiot who wrote that is still in his cellar and not on the street!
The hippies had inspiring if ambiguous slogans, “Revolution Now!” and “Power to the People”. These folks can only come up with “Whatever”.
Wow that was the worst attempt at online broadcasting I have ever seen.
Just what you’d expect, hundreds of college age know nothings yelling, jumping around, beating plastic buckets wishing to Gaia they had a Woodstock.
Purely pathetic.
Twitter has been having a field day with this. Best one I have seen is :”hey hey, ho ho, want fries with that, for here or to go?”
Kind of reminds me of the storming of Yo-Yo Dyne Aviation in ‘Buckaroo Banzai...’ Where the lazy, lizardy looking Lectroids are gathered together for a pep rally and cheer. That went something like this:
Cheer Leader: “Where do we want to go?!!!”
Lectroids: “HOME!”
Cheer Leader: When will we get there?!!!”
Lectroids: “REAL SOON!!!”
Trust Fund Kids: Dumber than a sack of hammers.
Jack.
Frigging hilarious! The entry door had some like "Nobody cumz in here - Sekrit", and Lithgow gives a bravura mugging imitation of Mussolini haranguing the crowd with that speech.
In watching the live feed, here are some observations....
First observation there are a lot of white people at this rally. In fact, I havent seen much diversity in the crowd. Age range seems to be 20ish to 30ish. Lot of on-lookers.
Second observation they have broken the crowd down into smaller groups with mega-phones at each group and they are group thinking. Question: what is the main problem in America?
Third observation theme keeps coming forward of corporate personhood. Dollars have replaced our voice.
Fourth observation the Anonymous group just issued a warning to law enforcement. They said for them not to use excessive force on anyone, or we will come to their aid. And to the rest, they said, Quote: We are not as different as you think, we are you, we are anonymous, we are legion. We do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.
Currently, they are marching around the perimeter and after that they are going to break for dinner at 6pm and then get back together. The crowd has grown, but it is difficult to tell how many are actual protesters, and how many are on-lookers. A roving camera has interviewed folks. One guy was a Ron Paul supporter, and one guy said most of the crowd is hard left, but if normal people would come down, it could be an effective situation. Of course, anarchists are out in force, carrying red flags. And some type of Spanish influence group is walking around with masks on that look like theatre masks. Im not sure what their agenda is. Overall, the crowd still remains majority white, tinted with olive, and very few of other races. Professionally printed signs are beginning to show themselves, but havent been able to read any of them yet.
At 7pm they will begin with another round of talks, which will be more educational in nature, one guy said. Also, at 7pm they are going to discuss renaming the park they are occupying and they are in the process of calling the corporation that owns the property, to make sure it is okay for them to spend the night there. (Thats sticking it to em! LOL Rather ironic.)
I guess they will be showing propaganda images on the live stream until 7pm. Thats what is on right now. Evil govt, evil military, evil corporations...etc. Progressive blather. There have been several mentions of world ordered socialism is a great thing.
Chants being yelled during march time...
Whose street? Our street!
The people united will never be defeated.
The people are we.
Eat the rich. Feed the poor.
What do you want? Equality. When do you want it? Now.
We are the 99%.
Wall Street banks, you get high, we can see your greedy side.
We got sold out, they got bailed out.
The situation seems to be - not enough naive, mind-numbed young bodies to whip into a frenzy. Since “Anonymous” and his/her ilk are too chicken-shit to put their butts on the line it is a pathetic display.
So, not much is going to happen.
Does this presage next summer?
Will the threat of riots pre-national election fizzle out because folks are more interested in finding jobs and food than getting shot at in the streets?
It has clearly been organized, and appears to be using the same patterns as the “Arab Springs.” Pick a topic most can agree on, get people fired up, then switch to the real agenda once passions are ignited. The real agenda in this instance, in regard to America, is “world socialism” all governments under one umbrella. It’s been mentioned and alluded to in several interviews.
Will they get it done? I don’t think so. We shall see. No SEIU and Acorn types are there that I can see. None of these protesters are even aware of what it would mean to meet the full force of the conservative movement, which supports our constitution! These people on Wall Street parading around do not support our constitution—they want out of the deal.
This is an orchestrated move to over-throw the constitution while progressives still can keep the path clear. It is about crippling America enough to get it on board for the “One currency, one socialist” world. There are enough dumb people to fall prey to this. That is what they are counting on.
I’ll tell you this...this is their one shot. They better get it right, because if they fail, we conservatives will make sure we don’t hear from them for 100 years. It will take that long for their movement to recover.
Ha! - I’m that thread.
What’s really funny is that the protest organizers have recently discovered that the plaza they are currently occupying is actually private property. So far the property owners have no objections to the protesters. There are now reports of parking meters being damaged and at least one person injured by a flying glass bottle.
They so badly are romanticizing about having their own Tahrir Square. The shortsightedness of this protest is simply amazing. HippySpring.
Thankfully, the Obama was prepared for event like this had and a way for concerned citizens to respond.
