This is geared toward LDS members but I think it fairly covers everyone.
I particularly like #4. If anything DOES happen, the government will be here within hours! (insert laughter) Did you know the government has been telling us that we need to have food storage? Theyre actually CALLING it food storage! We now have the government telling us to store food, water, medicines
whatever we will need to be able to stay in our homes for several months.

Me, too. I watched a documentary on the Donner Party the other day. That or I am starting my own soylent green plant in the back yard.

I watched a documentary on the Donner Party the other day. That wasn't intended as a Do-It-Yourself instruction.

Other than the shame that they had to endure when they returned to civilization for consuming the flesh of their dead comrades, they seemed to turn out OK. Maybe a few nightmares and some weird thoughts about Uncle Eddie when he came down with an illness.

While it’s not worth getting over, there is a significant possibility that during a crisis, a government will seize and distribute a private food supply.
I’ve decided should that scenario happen (a defcon 3 scenario) that I should be kept mobile.

This shows what a screwed up gargantuan beast “the government” truly is. In reality it is not a monolithic entity, but a polyglot of bureaucratic fiefdoms, each with it's own mission that may or may not conflict with other agencies. So while they are running ads on TV showing a families world being turned upside down by disaster, and urging people to prepare, another branch is looking at preppers as potential terrorists. Typical.
