This was originally going to be titled, “Agreeing With Richard Dawkins,” because one of the world’s most notorious Darwinists has offended feminists by telling them that there are worse things than being propositioned in a hotel elevator. But then I saw the video in which the atheist chick at the epicenter of this controversy made the complaint that prompted Dawkins’ rebuke and said, “Oh, hell.”

This gets funny, so keep reading. Hat-tip to Ann Althouse, and thanks to commenter Joe for pointing it out.

There's a possibility here that you're overlooking, which is that the young lady might just have wanted for people to know—in a shrill, scolding, disapproving, school-marmish kinda way—that somebody was attracted to her. Because otherwise, you know, we would probably assume that nobody is.

ahh, scanning too quickly I thought at first instant that it was Dawkins himself who was making a pass at this woman at 4 am in the hotel elevator! (I was imagining him as a Dominique Strauss-Kahn of academe, which he may or may not be, I have no idea)

It seems from this comment (below) on that blog that all the ire toward Dawkins is because he tried to introduce an element of "perspective" about the blogger's experience being not quite as awful as the plight of women across the Muslim world:

But crazy. The whole thing has developed because Rebecca is overreacting. First to a jerk on a elevator, then to a chick who stated that on twitter, now to Dawkins.
