Sarah Palin Reportedly Aquires $1.6M Home in Scottsdale, Arizona (photos)

The Palins have reportedly purchased a lovely desert home in North Scottsdale, firing rumors of a presidential run, a go at Kyl's Senate seat, among other things.  To me, I'm not sure that means she's running... it's a long flight from the Lower 48 to AK, and she's got endless business down here.

A local site ArizonaCentral reported that a just-closed deal on a secluded luxury home in far north Scottsdale might be the Palins making a secretive buy, and it seems this is the one.

It's an 8,000-square-foot, dark-brown stucco home with a guard gate with six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a six-car garage, a swimming pool and spa, and a full basement with a home theater, billiards room and wine cellar.

Safari Investments LLC paid $1.695 million cash for the home in a deal that appears designed to cloak the identity of a high-profile buyer.

Safari Investments is a Delaware limited liability firm formed May 12, the day before the deal for the Scottsdale home closed. No officers are listed on the Delaware filing, and that state doesn't require the names of individual associated with limited liability companies to be disclosed. High-profile people often buy homes through LLCs to maintain their privacy.

Alan Kierman, an attorney with the Phoenix law firm of Mack Drucker & Watson, is listed on property records as the contact for Safari Investments. Asked point blank by The Arizona Republic if Palin and her husband Todd Palin bought the north Scottsdale house through the company, Kierman said he had no comment.

No, the Palins have NOT reportedly bought a home in Scottsdale, AZ. There is a rumor to the effect they MAY have bought one but there is no evidence to support it other than a bunch of stupid speculative news articles.

Bristol bought in Maricopa. It's about the same distance south of Phoenix as this house is north.

There's a 6 bedroom, 3 bath, 4,000 sq ft house listed in Maricopa for $250K. Not as nice, not as defensible, but a whole lot cheaper.

Certainly have their reasons for buying this property, but IMO, it doesn`t come remotely close to the beauty of the one in Wasilla. Did they put that one on the market?

Don’t understand why in the world she would opt for a home in an Africa hot desert?.

Very unlikely. Winters in Arizona and the short Summer in Alaska. That is the standard lifestyyle in Scottsdale if you can afford it.

Have you ever heard of Snowbirds? Sarah will be a Snowbird.

That is an ugly house on a damn ugly piece of property. Sorry, but I call them as I see them.

From post-card beautiful Alaska to this piece of parched, dead land?

It certainly looks defendable.

If Sarah truly is buying this house then it is an act of genius.

Wherever she lives, we can be sure that there will be thousands of crazies at her perimeter, protesting and flinging excrement for the eight years of her Presidency.

But with this house, they’ll all die of thirst in a week.

they’ll all die of thirst in a week.

And they will deserve it if they don't go away quietly.

Genius.

She knows 2012 is Obama’s year to win....she’s looking more for 2016.

If that is so, we will cease to be a Republic long before 2016.

Deserts can be beautiful, and even parched land has much life on it. It is a different kind of beauty.

“That is an ugly house on a damn ugly piece of property.
Sorry, but I call them as I see them.”

Amen to that. As someone who lived in Alaska’s beauty for 20 years, I see no way that they’ll be happy in that brown, boring desolation. I couldn’t handle it. Just shoot me.

Maybe she’s moving to AZ to challenge McCain for his Senate seat.

IF she spent $1.7 M cash for a house, she’s not planning on spending big bucks on a presidential campaign.

it's still a crummy desert! Of course I'm pretty spoiled living here on Maui

When the whole island chain is consumed by hot lava, talk to me about the crummy desert.
