We are in total agreement! Someone else was trying to suggest that Trump was a Social Conservative basically. LOL

Donald Trump is a joke

By a 7-1 margin pretty much.

Where's all the "hate"? Where's all the "she can't win"?

The poll is missing a name....the stain's name is not on the list. And right now, the stain would have to beat itself in order to lose the office.

And if the stain (or little tin god, if you prefer) makes no huge errors in judgement or performance (and they would have to be much much bigger than the healthcare travesty or the Lybian error), the stain will not get beaten in 2012 by any of the cast of characters now in evidence in the rino/repub/indep/conserv group.

And I absolutely hate stating that....

I knew I was going to be flooded with responses from the Palinites, but I’m only saying what I say about Palin from experience with the independents I know.

None of them have a positive view of Palin. In fact they all have a very strongly negative view. Most other GOP contenders they are quite willing to consider (Romney is a no show though, which is good), but not Palin.

The problem with Palin is that the McCain campaign fed her into the media without any prep and it became like a mulching machine. It’s not Palin’s fault, I blame the McCain people, but there’s not a lot which can be done about it now.

Though I admit Palin quitting at governor also didn’t help her cause (and yes, I know why she did it, and the reasons were good, but then again she created the laws that caused her the grief).

While I like Palin, I think she doesn’t have much chance owing to the the tarring and feathering she has undergone by the media.

She is winning this poll, same as she would win an election if people would just quit giving a damn what the media says.

Didn’t much care for the options.

I opted for Pawlenty as the least bad.

While I like Palin, I think she doesn’t have much chance owing to the the tarring and feathering she has undergone by the media.

Pawlenty for me, too; for the same reasons you state.

Put down the Kristol ball and step away from the computer. You miss a most obvious point: the unfair and relentless "tarring and feathering" Sarah Palin has undergone has only served to toughen her, NOT weaken her.

If your argument were remotely correct, you are yielding the idea that the media will forever pick our candidates, which they did in 2008, giving us John McLame.

You would do well to turn off the TV and go to facebook and READ Sarah Palin's positions. Don't worry, Bill Kristol and Karl Rove will still be there when you get back.

The reality is that I will vote for anyone not named “Obama”.

While I agree with you, this thinking against Bush in 2008, is part of a big reason (IMO) that we got Obama.

It can no longer be, because it’s not the other guy, or lesser-of-2-evils thinking. We really need to find the RIGHT candidate who CAN and WILL follow through to turn this country around.

Choosing the other guy or the lesser-/2 evils is only going to beget more of the same (except maybe slower), IMO.

I’m only saying what I say about Palin from experience with the independents I know.

None of them have a positive view of Palin. In fact they all have a very strongly negative view.

And you've actually sat and picked these Independents' brains to gauge their feelings on the potential Republican hopefuls? How many have you surveyed? Three thousand? Thirty thousand?

I'll bet it's more like three.

You're not the first person to come onto this forum trying to convince everyone here that, "the Independents don't like Sarah". Normally, they're parroting some slop they read in the MSM, or repeating something that was said by a couple of people they know.

As far as Sarah being "mulched" by the press, she's withstood all of their attacks, and has grown stronger and ever more popular over these last two and a half years. If their attacks had ANY effect, do you really think they'd still be firing on her day in and day out?

It’s not Palin’s fault, I blame the McCain people, but there’s not a lot which can be done about it now.

Oh? You think caving in to the left-wing assault, and abandoning Sarah Palin is the proper response? What are you going to do when they turn the collected fury of their guns on another prominent conservative? You gonna abandon them too, because, "there's not much that can be done about it now."?

How 'bout this. How about you just be straight with people, and admit that you don't support Palin because you support someone else for president? Just stop with the 'damaged goods' baloney. It's a worn out, and fallacious argument.

Yes, as usual if anyone dares to even suggest that Palin will not automatically win the presidency the Palinites react with righteous fury. Then they start questioning your veracity and motives, and given time will even start calling you a faux conservative and RINO.

I could point you to piles of polls on the favorable/unfavorable ratings of Palin out there and you would just brush those aside because they don’t agree with your predetermined conclusions.

Honestly, it is just not even worth discussing Palin at all around here because the rabid fans are unwilling to even listen to a single negative point about her.

Go ahead with the normal character assassination that follows. I’ve been through it before. I’m done.

None of the above.

I want someone who can win so we don’t end up with Obama again.
We are falling into the same trap that we did when he was elected.

Palin, though shoe would be a great leader will never get past the MSM. Meaning she will not get the independent votes.
We know the rats hate her, but without independent votes we can’t win either.

look at how the dems portray her .. this from today

http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/brad-bannon/2011/03/24/barack-obama-would-crush-sarah-palin-in-2012

There is an associate poll as well.

http://www.usnews.com/news/washington-whispers/slideshows/10-reasons-sarah-palin-would-make-a-good-president

and it is crushing her. Flame me all you want, but I tell you all if we pick her we are gong to get stuck with Obama again.

I say West / Bachmann is an unbeatable pair. We need to pick our candidate instead of the GOP doing so. They will once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

She said a few days ago when this term is over she is done with everything. No more SOS or any presidential ambitions. But that means nothing, she said that before she ran for POTUS as well

>The time has come to question the conventional wisdom which asks the question: “Is a candidate electable?”.

The truth is my dog could beat 0bama.<

You over estimate the intelligence and attention span of the American public. They know more about American Idol than they do about what is happening right before their very noses.

It will still turn into a popularity contest like in High School. People actually like Obama they don’t like his policies. But that translates to them voting for him again.
The MSM will take about 1/5 of the voters with them on who they pick and they will be picking Obama. So we need a strong candidate who has morals, will be good for us, can’t be maligned by the MSM and can win that popularity contest.

If we take your approach, we'll have Obama for 4 more years. None of the names on that list will have a chance of beating Obama because they will all have one or two flaws in the eyes of someone that will not vote for them. But they are not anywhere near as flawed as Obama. Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you. But Obama is definitely a special case. He is beatable, but not if the public is looking for the perfect candidate.

He PR people are working overtime to show that she is bearing the burden of this administration’s foreign policy campaign while her boss is voting “present”.
