I admit there were doubts in those early days about whether I could make it through all of February without invoking her name. The tremors and sweats were manageable. But I couldn't overcome an abiding terror:
What if Sarah Palin announced her presidential bid, right in the middle of my self-imposed, month-long moratorium?
The turning point came when I watched Fox News on Feb. 11. A banner flashed on the screen: "FOX NEWS ALERT." Dramatic music played. Stuart Varney, in for Neil Cavuto, delivered the bulletin: "Sarah Palin has issued a tweet."
This was news?
It was then that I realized I had nothing to worry about. Palin was not going to make real news in February, or, most likely, at any other time. At most, she was going to make noise - enough to earn that $1 million Fox pays her a year....

Dana Milbank is an op-ed columnist for The Washington Post and the author of "Tears of a Clown: Glenn Beck and the Tea Bagging of America."
Millions of us have lived in a Dana-Milbank-Free-Zone our entire lives and haven’t missed a thing.
This is a really pathetic column. WaPo actually pays him good money for this level of drivel?
Didn’t Danna already fail on the first day.She tweeted that she survived the first day without talking about Palin
So Dana is trying to play it off that his moratorium silence on Palin was easy because she isn’t very news worthy anyway but the fact that he had to have a moratorium on Palin tells me how much in his head she is! What a joke!
No self-discipline, eh?
Sara Palin is not not running because her numbers have stablized to show she has no chance of winning the Republican nomination. There are more appealing candidates. Nutbags like Milbank are the only ones who still have trouble ignoring her when recent events in New Jersey, Wisconsin and Ohio have produced more appealing conservatives. That’s how news works today, get caught up in what happened more than fifteen minutes ago and you’re boring most of your audience.
He had no such event. Early in the month this little twerp (I met him once and he was no more than 5’4”) went on a Palin tirade. It was a tweet but it counts. This guy is such a worthless hack. No wonder is has no readership.

I’m happy to report I’ve made it through my 240 month anniversary of not subscribing to the Washington Post.
What kind of a guy name is Dana?
He did prove one thing though: rules mean little to a liberal mind.
She tweeted that she survived the first day without talking about Palin
LOL.....
Well, well, well...look who's back on the Palin threads.
Numbers, numbers...lots of numbers being ginned up out there to try and discourage her from even trying.
So who's paying for these numbers?
And last time I checked, she hasn't even announced or even started campaigning. So, how can those numbers even mean anything at this point?
Dana?
LOL, you know who you are?
This is sadly funny. The irrelevant calling the relevant...irrelevant.
Dana?
Palin Wins February Townhall Republican Straw Poll; March Voting Period Begins
Haven’t even thought of Dana for a month. Too bad he had to break his silence.
Well, there is this guy... Dana Andrews
...but I agree, why would nayone name their son 'Dana'?
I have no idea who you are, and I don't recognize a single name you CC'd to your post. Perhaps you have me confused with some one else.
Like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, I happen to admire Palin for who she is and what she is accomplishing, while at the same time remaining frank about her political future. If she had any further political ambitions, she should have run for senator. Looks to me like she wants to stay at Fox and continue rallying her supporters, to which I give her a heartfelt "You go girl!" The left is trying to bait her into running. To her credit, she is so far ignoring them.
Check out the name below Palin's and then google how many straw polls that person has won.
We may all claim to be Conservatives here, regular readers of Townhall and attendees of Tea Parties and CPAC. All of this is quite different from the Republican nomination. I hope you can understand that.
So you're not the same presidio who got himself banned (for a while) this time last year for trolling the Palin threads?
Regardless, you are way off base here.
