Palin is Running, and She’ll Get Creamed
The Constitution Club ^ | 02-12-11 | Dave the Sage

Posted on 02/12/2011 7:47:16 PM PST by TheConservativeCitizen

It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah “you betcha” Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I don’t think she’ll make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.

I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

And let’s see, what was the ‘media’ take on Ronald Reagan? Oh yeah, aging, washed up B-actor.

And as a realist, I would say no. But in Palin's case, I would say that the MSM has a rare victory; she is ruined and has zero chance at election. But that's not base on what the MSM says, it's based on being in 39 states in the last couple of years and hearing what is said about her by those who vote Republican blindly. She's toast in the general election; I don't like, but it's reality.

We didn’t win in 2010 because Palin was cheerleading or king-making. We won because she was leading. None of the others wanted the responsibility (except DeMint). She wasn’t cheerleading when she ignited the fury at Obamacare with two words on Facebook. She was leading. She wasn’t cheerleading when she goaded Obama into responding about the Ground Zero Mosque and even back in high school she wasn’t cheerleading. She was on the court leading her team to victory.

The reason all the comparisons are made to Reagan is that we haven’t had a “leader” since Reagan. Palin comes along and we recognize that leadership that we’ve been craving for the last 20 years. We remember where we last saw it.

I will go with Sarah over any of the top GOP mainstream picks, including Huckabee, Romney, and Newt.

And CERTAINLY McCain!

Sure sounds like the left is trying to pick the GOP nominee again.

And whoever the author of this hitpiece is.

A couple of years ago the MSM bashed the Tea Party movement...wrote it off...look what happened.

It ISN'T Sarah...it's the people who support her. WE are the ones the MSM has to defeat and there are a lot more of us than they can imagine even in their worst nightmare.

She wins if the independents want her to win. We alone won’t be deciding her future I’m afraid, and when she goes to the middle to get them, everyone here will be pretty pouty.

“Dave the Sage” has posted five times as many articles as he has comments. The four comments he has made on this thread is four times as many comments as he’s made on any thread ever. Don’t hold your breath waiting for him to engage in actual debate.

Like someone once said about the New York Times, they like to pretend they are above the fray, but they have no problem stabbing the wounded after the battle is over.

Well we’ll agree to disagree that that is your reality, not mine.

The lamestream media, because of their blind Obama worship, is failing. Obama is a failure, and with some well placed ‘new’ social media FB posts and Tweets, Palin has challenged Dear Leader in a way elected, office holding ‘R’s were too afraid to. Death panels for starters. Her most recent tweet (today) asking the media to ask Barry Soetaro (she calls him Obama) will his Adm support the same Egyptian style ‘change’ but for Iran (IamaNutJob won’t permit protests). Hmmm, sounds like someone is foregoing the trully lame and bringing the news to the voter’s cell phone.

And what’s the problemo with that, Sarge? It’s a long time til the elections. Now is the time to sort out the viable from the not viable. That’s why they call this the primary season, Sarge; is that ok with you, Sarge?

The Alaska Constitution

Section 8.2 - General Authority.

The legislature shall provide for the utilization, development, and conservation of all natural resources belonging to the State, including land and waters, for the maximum benefit of its people.
-

The oil belongs to the State of Alaska and the people of Alaska, not to the oil companies. Gov. Palin and the Alaska legislature was following the state’s constitution when they realigned distribution of oil profits.
