Palin is Running, and She’ll Get Creamed
The Constitution Club ^ | 02-12-11 | Dave the Sage

Posted on 02/12/2011 7:47:16 PM PST by TheConservativeCitizen

It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah “you betcha” Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I don’t think she’ll make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.

I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

That’s why we have primaries. Opinions are just that. The people will speak at the real polls

If you see success w/the MSM, I’d say you are in the ‘ easily persuade ‘ column.

I'm not persuaded; I like Palin. However, I'm a realist. And, realistically, the MSM was successful in persuading the general electorate and Palin has been ruined by them. As I said, it's one of the rare instances in the MSM being successful in ruining somebody for no reason at all.

Conservatives need to find a candidate that actually has a reasonable shot at beating Obama.

Let's play the primary game:

Palin
Romney
Gingrich
Huckabee
Pawlenty
Paul
Daniels
Giuliani
Cain
Trump
Barbour

Who does "Dave the Sage" vote for? It's easy to be a political sniper. Let's see you defend a fixed position.

Sarah is not going to sit back and let the ankle-biters ruin her reputation. She will get out there and put that nonsense to rest [through campaigning for Pres. or otherwise]. She will not let them win. She knows how to handle a bully and is just getting started in the game.

Dear God. You can’t be that efffing stoopid.

Sarah has a better run hit average than any other candidates in any area and by any measure.

She scored low on CPAC and your article was timed so perfectly, wasn’t it?

You are a shill and an intellectual hack. Make that intellectual cul de sac.

If she were so unimportant and so flawed there wouldn’t be 2 or 3 articles a day, that’s every damn day, about her.

No, the only reason we keep hearing about her “you betcha” articles bitchin about her is because she is important.

You guys need to find a different line of work. We ain’t buying what you are selling.

The only candidate that can beat Sarah is another Fauxbama who has their entire life locked down so no one can investigate them.

Not so fast...

The msm ‘ruined’ Palin? Well in addition to hiring a chief of staff for Sarah PAC, the former governor (in between Twets that school Barry Soetaro) is calling and asking for a retraction and a full apology for the ‘Christine Aquilera should be deported comment’ THAT SHE DIDN’T SAY yet Time Magazine QUOTED!

Its a small start, but a warning salvo that she has learned the game and she is going to win it!

She's better than Romney, but she lost 2012 when she quit halfway through her term. That's her kryptonite.

Reagan didn't quit. She did.

And BTW, I haven’t watched television for a very long time and have no use for the rhetoric or drama of the popular politicians. They all work for the same government and foreign/anti-competition interest business constituents.

.

Did you note the American Spectator straw poll above?

Sarah Palin got over 50%

Nobody else was even close!

No more MSM-open primary dems picking another weak RINO liberal Bob Dole or John McCain candidate for the GOP

.

As has nearly every institution of business, academic and political leadership at every level.

And let’s see, what was the ‘media’ take on Ronald Reagan? Oh yeah, aging, washed up B-actor.

Reagan also didn’t have baseless ethics violations filed against him almost daily.

Yes, I saw that. I don’t read on that site, is it strictly a conservative site and was it a vote of people on that site?

Wonder how a poll would do here on Free Republic? In fact I wonder if they have had one and I missed it?

I’ve been reading through comments here.

I’ll take first crack at that list.

Romney because there isn’t a single issue he is going to defend other than to say it was permissible under the Constitution and that was the right of the state to make those decisions and laws.

Gingrich - He is one hell of a tactician but what does he stand for today that he wasn’t against yesterday. The only difference between him and John Edwards is a couple of pounds.

Huckabee - I genuinely like the guy and like watching his show. He’s just so affable and that exactly why I don’t want him for President. Effin gladhander, worse that Romney.

Trump who I admire and have met isn’t going to be taken seriously every again. I have heard his claptrap “I may run, but who knows” for 20 years. Stay home and find your PR company another gimmick to keep your name out there. Yes, I read about why you enlisted a PR firm years ago and I’m sure a good many of us here remember it as well.

But, weren’t you kinda singing Barry’s praises a while back?

Paul - I like every last one of your ideas but on this planet many are just unworkable and I actually believe if you become president you will be authentic to everything you ever said. Buh Bye.

Cain I like but there is the issue of abortion and where he stands today.

Giuliani - man you had your chance, you really did and then you went all limp wristed. Weird. I never would have expected that from you.

Pawlenty and Barbour still need to make their case and all the above have been where? In the last two years? Against this administration?

And I am suppose to take them seriously? You betcha!/s

Palin is my number one choice
