"You do know that you're cheating the system."
Those were the actual words said to me by a clueless cashier the other day.
Cheating? How? Was I using counterfeit coupons? No.
Was I using coupons for unauthorized items? No.
Was I using too many coupons? No.

Yea, Peter would sum up my opinion of that fairly well.

Who gets hit for the "double coupon"? Depends. Usually the manufacturer pays for the coupon and they split the cost of the doubling with the distributor.

A certain gentleman want to a food fair and got a stack of dollar off coupons for a certain brand of ice cream pint. As they had no expiration date he waited until it was time for ice cream resets knowing that the flavors that were being phased out would be put on sale.
When they dropped to the clearance price of 99 cents he cleaned out six stores.
Observe your stores. Most stores have resets twice a year and you can pick up items for pennies or sometimes even for free.

My kids would always ask me as I pulled in with a carful of almost free groceries, “did you make the manager cry again, Mom”?
Now they’re well-trained shoppers, too.
The only discouraging part is when, after all the hard work of couponing, we stand behind 3 carts of EBT-funded steaks and groceries NOT EVEN ON SALE!

I know someone who manages a grocery store and he says that *most* of the crab legs they sell are bought by people using EBT / food stamps.
