I am getting tired of people on our side holding Charles Krauthammer up as some screen test for conservative candidates.
The guy was a speech writer for Carter and Mondale what else needs to be said?
He trashes conservatives as unqualified and celebrates those like Castle who are a lefts dream.
Just because this elitist writes stuff that sounds conservative to make a living, doesn't mean he has shed any of his leftist skin.
While he may criticize this administration he always comes back and pats them on the shoulder. Bill Clinton a big fan along with most liberals.
Now look how he is calling Obama the comeback kid; what a joke.
The more Krauthammer attacks Palin on non policty issues, the more I support her because liberals will tell you who they fear.
Notice Charles never attacks Palin and substitive issues, its always personal attacks or character flaws that can never be resolved?
The guy is a wolf in sheeps clothing, and is not to be admired on our side sorry Rush this is one spot where you are wrong.
and = on
Wow. You should learn to spell, punctuate, and make a real argument.
You are wrong.
I continue to like Chuck, even though I don’t always agree with him.
Give us an example of who holds up KHammer as a screen test for conservatives? I've never heard such talk in my life.
People change. I am no longer the bleeding heart lib I was in college and shortly after.
I never heard him say much about Palin, now compare him to the “conservatives” David Brooks and Scarborough.
Not sure I agree that Krauthammer is a RINO. He winds up on the conservative side of things most of the time and speaks very well doing so.
Who agrees with everybody 100% of the time on anything?
“The guy was a speech writer for Carter and Mondale what else needs to be said?”
Fellow with the initials RR used to be a Democrat.
Became a pretty good Republican President.
As another poster on another thread pointed out -- He's Canadian, he's Jewish, he's a psychiatrist, he's in a wheelchair, he was a speech writer for Carter, he was a speechwriter for Mondale. Does this sound like the description of a Conservative or a Liberal?
I used to like him, but now I have no idea why.
Why would your support for Palin (or any candidate, for that matter) be influenced by the ramblings of a political pundit? Frankly, I don't give a rip what Kraut or anyone else has to say abour Sarah's chances.
“he is calling Obama the comeback kid; what a joke”
I completely agree with that point - the motivation of your piece.
Obama is the crash & burn kid. It’s dramatic, it’s shocking, and America has never seen anything like it before.
And that is a good thing.
As a rule of thumb - if people are given a lot of TV face time, you HAVE to wonder about them.
I heard him talk about Palin this week. He generally had kind things to say about her. He also suggested that she brush up on ‘boring’ policy information, which is actually good advice. He did not dismiss her possibility of being a strong candidate and correctly pointed out that she has very high negatives with certain groups.
Palin responded to the critique almost immediately and I found her words as persuasive as his.
Now, if he goes off and starts working for MSNBC later on, then yes he is a “David Brooks” RINO. Based on his words, writings, and opinions so far, he is a lot closer to the Republican party than Democratic.
RINOFEST 2012....dont listen to them.
boot out the RINOs in 2012 like we booted out RINOs and bluedogs in 2010.
Wow. you’ve got quite a stereotype of a conservative in your mind.
An absolutely silly argument for deciding if someone is conservative or not.
Anyway, Kraut is ok but he comes off sometimes as a elitist Harvard type which can be annoying. He's no fan of Palin but not everyone is.
I give him the benefit of the doubt and accept that he don't really care..
He is after all one of our "betters".. like George Will..
I spit on his shoes..
So you judge people by their race (Jewish), their nationality (Canadian), their physical abilities (wheelchair) and their education (psychiatrist).
You sound like a liberal who categorizes people based on those things.
