Yogi Bear: The Worst Movie Ever?

The 'worst movie ever' is a term often thrown around when terrible movies are released. The upcoming 3D film Yogi Bear takes its inspiration form a classic cartoon and apparently wrecks it. The acting seems staid and the jokes in the commercials are embarrassing. It could possibly be the worst feature film in history.

My personal favorite, of course, is Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece The Room. Yet at least The Room has some redeeming features, mainly the fact that it is so bad, it is good. For example, please enjoy this quick summary of the movie:

This is more like it; “St. Louis” sung by “Jonah and the Wailers” in 1964’s Hey There It’s Yogi Bear (Hanna-Barbera).

Wait until Gulliver's Travels starring Jack Black comes out later this month. A Christmas turkey with a Christmas ham.

Oh, but Mr. Black is an esteemed expert, critical thinker and respected critic in U.S. Foreign Policy & Economics, doncha' know.

Oh wait, my error. His expertise "expires" whenever a Democrat is president.

Ever seen Barry Bostwick’s “Megaforce’?

25-ish years later....that's still a running joke in my parents' house.

"Geez, that was a bad movie. Not as bad as 'Megaforce', but still pretty awful."

No, that would be the Lilly Tomlin/Charles Grodin stink-bomb called "The Incredible Shrinking Woman."

Mission Impossible II

The first 5-10 minutes were good. If they had ended the movie right there, it would have been just fine.

Mrs WBill still jokes about that one. Fight scene at the end had Cruise and the bad guy duking it out with vehicles, before degenerating to guns, then knives, then finally rocks. (maybe it was bricks, I don't really remember)

Anyway, from them on, any interminable fight scene will provoke her comment "Where's My Rock?"

Well, maybe you had to be there. Or maybe it was better you just missed it.

And I can't believe that no one has mentioned any of the later "Alien" Movies (I'm thinking Resurrection, or AvP) yet. Or "Highlander II", which they must have had a gun to Sean Connery's wife's head to make him appear in, it was so horrifically awful.

Uh you are all falling for a blog that is about The Room, not Yogi Bear. No reason to think YB is anything worse than a kids movie with good animation.

The Room is both a worst movie and a worst cult following item. College kids are all hailing The Room as their Plan 9 but I think it’s a contrived phenomenon. There are tons of bad movies with bad actors.

This guy only saw the YB trailer which is rather cute esp for small kids.
