Heres a news flash from FoxNation:
http://nation.foxnews.com/national-guard/2010/11/18/obama-administration-plans-pull-back-national-guard-much-border
The Obama Administration plans to withdraw National Guard troops from the Texas, New Mexico and California borders by the end February under a new Southwest security plan, even as turmoil in Mexican border cities grows, according to documents obtained by The Washington Examiner. A letter sent to various members of the Texas Congressional delegation from Texas Gov. Rick Perrys office says, In February, 2011, the Texas, New Mexico, and California National Guard forces that were deployed to the border in September, 2010, under Presidents Obamas Southwest Border Augmentation Plan, will have 30 days to complete a total draw down of forces.
The roughly 550 troops will have the month of February to redeploy back to their units, Texas Congressman Ted Poe told The Examiner. Troops would not be pulled off the Arizona border under the plan, and about 100 of the troops would re-deploy there from other states, officials said.
Poe received the letter today. His office confirmed with Department of Homeland Security officials that the plan came from the administration.
Dont even ask me to guess why theyre doing this, because I dont know. Are we bringing the guard dog in from the henhouse as the foxes move in?
geeze...it took ‘em 3 months to get there....the last stragglers just showed up.
We have to be cool for two more years this POS is trying to cause a insurrection.
If this is true it is time for the GOVERNORS of the border states to call out the guard for the border.
0babowdown sounds the retreat? Will we hold the line at Boston or just scramble for the Canadian border?
Big Deal. Aren’t all their weapons locked up in the armory?
Good one, Paladin.
JW
notice how he waiting till AFTER the election.
If the DREAM Act passes, troops and the border patrol will have nothing to do. Since all one has to do is file a claim that one is covered under the DREAM Act to prevent deportation until the case is heard, all an alien has to do is Xeorox off a DREAM Act claim form, cross the border, and hand it to the first cop he sees. Then there is nothing that can be done to him. The DREAM Act will have, effectively, erased the Southern Border
Words fail me as to how disgusting this is.
Meanwhile he has his TSA thugs molest innocent people at airports in the name of “security”.
I find it hard to believe nothing this man has done or not done can get him impeached.
The security of this country is first and foremost the job of the POTUS. This too appears to be above his paygrade.
Then the state would be forced to pay for their deployment, and I expect there would be serious issues about what they would be authorized to do. Policing the border isn't a state duty, and the courts seems to be making it difficult for the States to choose to enforce Federal law if the Feds won't do it themselves.
Time for Gov Rick Perry to call up the Texas State Militia to defend our southern border.
Obama’s assignment of National Guard troops to the border was a political feint anyway, and was never intended to do anything to stop illegal immigration or the drug cartels.
We’re on our own.
He needs them to reinforce the TSA agents at the airports.
The Guard is activated in two ways.
1) Title 10, Feds pays for it all!
2) Title 32, State pays for it all!
So if Gov. Perry (of Texas) doesn’t have the money, National Guard can’t be used.
We’d be better off if the Natl Guard worked the airports, and the TSA agents guarded the border.
The border might not get any better, but the airports would.
I guess 0bummer and Big Sis consider the border secured.
It’s all smoke and mirrors anyway.
Obama needs to withdraw TSA from all airports!!!
