My rant:
"This is not an airplane, You can tell from the plume. In 40 years I never saw a jet fighter create that kind of plume" says the retired three star Lieutenant General Tom McInerney.
And I agree with him.
"I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft."

“Fox news had the very long interview with Lieut. General that I posted here earlier— so one would think that the video would be available but one would be mistaken.”
Is this the video?

“It is supposed to be 10 min. long2 min. of the booster stage until the rocket on top of the smoke plume disappears into the sky heading North by Northwest as it gets smaller and smallerfollowed by 8 min. of the lingering smoke plume, because the volume and size and shape were so amazing and the camera man had never seen anything like it before, and stated so, in his 15 years of working in a news copter, so he left the camera running to record the smoke effluvia (this is the word that the Jane’s defense expert used and so I use it here).”
That’s interesting. The only thing I’ve seen is the pilot reporting that he “stayed on the object” for around 10 minutes. Where did you hear the part about the booster stage and then 8 minutes of lingering smoke trail? If that’s true then it should be easy to prove, just show the whole video with no cuts. What’s the longest uncut portion of video you have seen?
It seems to me that folks on both sides are a little too eager to make a claim either way until CBS releases the whole tape.

I've brought up the ships/boats a couple of times. And then there's the aircraft of all sorts. And the few million people who might have noticed a launch. And I see that all these potential witnesses have been offered by others in these threads.

^hat NOTAM was taken off the site that issued it.
It pertains to
Air: W537 AND
Surface:
CAE 1176. CAE 1155 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR OCEANIC TRANSITION. CAE 1316 & CAE 1318 .
I do not know how more bald it could be.
Now if the sub screwed up and launched elsewhere, there is not an effing thing I can do about it.
The warning was given.

The NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen, generated by the FAA) should provide a clue:

To: Auntie Mame
I saw it, video taped it. When I realized what it could do, I understand why the govt doesnt want to comment on it. Thats all that I should say.

...I think it’s irresponsible for him not to elaborate.
I think that it would be irresponsible to elaborate on what was not aired.
But think about it: obviously this was property of the U.S. government, and they don’t want to talk about it. Therefore, I don’t want to talk about it. What does it say on this page?

So how far away would you estimate that "missile" was from the point of photography?
>>This one just looked weird. That is my position.<<
Yes, it does. That is why there is a controversy. It is one of the more unique ones. Flight 808 often produces a con trail, but they are usually more sparse than this one. They are always in the same place at the same time with the same line though.
The following LAX airport webcam still shows the contrail heading for the coast and not away as the cameraman stated.
That NOTAM does not cover the period of the event on the 8th November. Check the Flight Level on that NOTAM. FL390 means 39,000 feet. Since when do submarine ballistic launched missiles or the like stop at 39,000 feet.
Selected areas off that part of California are routinely used by the Naval Air Warfare Center. The NTM (Notice to Mariners) have covered missile launches for decades. You require a NOTAM to active such a ballistic missile launch. No such NOTAM was issued. Two airliners were in the area at the time so there was no US NOTAM issued for a ballistic missile launch.
That area did not cover the area where the claimed launch was. There was no NOTAM issued. It is truly amazing how peoples lack of perspective of an airliner contrail can lead off into conspiracy theory land.
That NOTAM is not for the event in question. The dates don’t cover the 8th. Also check the height Flight Level 39,000 feet.
Ballistic missiles don’t suddenly stop at that height!
