WOW! HAVE YOU SEEN CHRISTINE'S 30-MIN AD?
CHRISTINE O'DONNELL ^ | 01 NOVEMBER 2010 | CHRISTINE O'DONNELL

Posted on 11/01/2010 7:34:17 PM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

This is the best political ad I have ever seen! I mean, this is a total game-changer and is unprecedented as I have never seen a Republican do this before. It succinctly lays out the issues and why only conservative remedies are the best option. Especially the part about education.

Why does it matter how long it took for her to get a degree.

Is Free Republic a website where we support the most educated candidate?

We have a series of indexes. A point system. Harvard and Yale are at 100. Lawyer is better than MBA. That’s how we decide who wins. And since Yale Law is the top one, based on the point system, the indexes, we should support him.

Or is Free Republic a Conservative website? Where we support the Conservative?

I mean, there are people here who think that it’s ok to debate the merits of Christine. What? This is a Conservative website.

If I wanted to (and I don’t), could I argue with people about the merits of Obama. Could I openly praise Obama?
He was, after all, the first black law review editor at Harvard Law. That makes him smart apparently, and, presumably a good President. Is that how we measure things at Free Republic now? Not whether the person is Conservative, but where the person went to school?

Who would even care if this were about her getting a piece of paper as opposed to a degree?

The facts are, she did get her degree but not the diploma.

Not according to O'Donnell's campaign manager. I guess he's lying.

9/3/10

Scott Giglio, assistant director of public relations at the Madison, N.J., university, told POLITICO the Tea Party Express-backed Senate hopeful was officially awarded her bachelor of arts degree in English literature on Wednesday.

Citing privacy reasons, Giglio could not explain the reasoning behind the timing, but O’Donnell’s campaign manager said Friday the candidate met a final course requirement this summer.

If we make excuses for people because they're on our side politically, we're no better than the DUmmies, who we're supposedly so much more honest and moral than.

Limbaugh doesn't have a college degree.

I guess we should get rid of him and use Al Franken instead, who has Radio Experience AND has a Harvard Degree.

What's your degree in, btw? Where from?

Cheers!

Who said anything about her needing a degree? The issue was her honesty and living up to her obligations.

Degrees don't impress me. Intelligence and honesty do.

Nice try, but I don't understand why we should cover for the flaws in our candidates. I don't lie for anyone, especially not a politcal candidate who I've never met, no matter her silly ads claiming she's me.

That's funny, you're not exhibiting either one on this thread.

Direct quote from you, in response to Palladin:

Palladin: Some genius. It took her what—12 years??— to get her degree from FDU?

Darkwolf377: Stop bringing up facts, you'll be accused of being a liberal.

You're openly praising someone for demeaning how long it took her to get a degree.

And now you're spinning that degrees mean nothing to you, now that you've been called out on it.

Again, I repeat. What's your degree in, and where from?

What was your GPA in your major?

Cheers!

I "openly praised" someone for demeaning someone? Bull. I said "Stop bringing up facts, you'll be accused of being a liberal." Which part of that praises anyone for anything? Which part demeans anyone?

If you have to lie about me to make a point, you're not only a liar, you have no argument.

And now you're spinning that degrees mean nothing to you, now that you've been called out on it.

Degrees mean nothing to me. Show one quote where I've ever said--ever--that degrees are necessary for anything, ever. I don't have one. I have known countless people who have them who are stick stone stupid about the real things in life, and it doesn't impress me.

You flat-out lied just there, and you have nothing--nothing--to back up your lie. That's what happens when you're so desperate to "win" a false argument--you get caught up in the fantasy argument in your mind, and are exposed.

Again, I repeat. What's your degree in, and where from?

I don't have a degree. I barely got out of high school before I went to work full time after working jobs since I was nine. Your degrees or anyone else's don't impress me at all because I have self-educated myself all my life and am quicker-witted than everyone at my current job, including my boss who is multi-degreed and consults me on work far beyond my job description.

See, this is what happens when you're so eager to impress yourself that you just lie. You end up looking foolish.

I never said anything about her degree--have no idea what her degree is IN, and don't care--because it's not about what a degree means, which is many things. It's about what being HONEST about her past says about her, and why, after Barney Frank's lack of experience led to the disaster we're in, we would let someone who can't even take care of her own finances go to Washington to represent people in the greatest deliberative body in the world.

What was your GPA in your

That's all you got, smart guy? Your education obviously didn't teach you much, other than how to lie to make your silly point.

Beat it.

I "openly praised" someone for demeaning someone? Bull. I said "Stop bringing up facts, you'll be accused of being a liberal."

The rhetorical technique is called "praising with faint damns" (a twist on the original).

It's fun to see you sputtering on angrily for paragraphs on end. Especially enlightening was this one:

I don't have a degree. I barely got out of high school before I went to work full time after working jobs since I was nine.

So why all the eagerness to take the side of someone making fun of COD for taking 12 years to get a degree? One would *think* you'd identify with her and admire her spunk and 'stick-to-it-iveness'. It's a nice contrast to the overly polished, Harvard-educated TOTUS, isn't it? And to Chris Coons, who has a Yale degree?

Or are you afraid someone from the left, or a RINO, with advanced degrees will look down on you, so you jump all over COD to deflect fire?

Why not START by own your accomplishments, which would gain the respect of everyone worth listening to: it used to be that people would brag about getting their degree from the "school of hard knocks."

And it is just that which excites so many conservatives about Palin and O'Donnell -- they are not elitists like Kerry, the Clintons, the Kennedys -- hell, almost the entire Dem ruling class -- and represent the best of American individualism, having LIVED and STRUGGLED to their current position, without having Daddy's connections or an Ivy League degree to open the way.

It's about what being HONEST about her past says about her, and why, after Barney Frank's lack of experience led to the disaster we're in, we would let someone who can't even take care of her own finances go to Washington to represent people in the greatest deliberative body in the world.

You mean like owning up to having dabbled with an Ouija board (which might discourage many of her Christian base)?

And the difference with Christine and Barney Frank is, Christine struggled, she didn't cheat and steal with other people's money, and then hide behind the press (and her own skirts, as the flaming queer Frank did "his" skirts) to keep it from coming out. She only messed up her own finances, which makes her that much more sensitive to being careful with others' money, including our descendants'.

So why pick on Christine?

Cheers!

The rhetorical technique is called "praising with faint damns" (a twist on the original).

You can't understand simple sentences, you should lay off the fancy stuff. My comment was not even about O'Donnell, it was a comment on how people don't like hearing facts that are inconvenient. He stated a fact, not a lie. If you don't think it matters, how can you claim it was an insult?

It's fun to see you sputtering on angrily for paragraphs on end.

As you send a reply just as long.

You're not very good at this.

(clip)So why all the eagerness to take the side of someone making fun of COD for taking 12 years to get a degree? One would *think* you'd identify with her and admire her spunk and 'stick-to-it-iveness'. It's a nice contrast to the overly polished, Harvard-educated TOTUS, isn't it? And to Chris Coons, who has a Yale degree?

After telling you I don't care about degrees, why are you saying I should identify with O'Donnell because she has a degree? Learn to read.

Who was I saying would be angry about the poster bringing up a fact--O'Donnell? No. People like you, who freak out over simple facts.

I don't identify with O'Donnell because I'm not a conservative who doesn't pay her bills and then lies about it.

I don't identify with O'Donnell because I've never claimed to be a conservative and then sued a conservative non-profit for $6.9 million over 'mental anguish'. (Oops, there's another fact--I'm a hater.)

Or are you afraid someone from the left, or a RINO, with advanced degrees will look down on you, so you jump all over COD to deflect fire?

You watch too much Oprah. First you say I should identify with O'Donnell because she took a long time to get a degree, now you've switched to saying I'm attacking her because I want a degree. That's Oprah psychology, stop it, you're awful at it. Talk about deflection--you lied, you got caught, now you're like a trapped rat thinking, ok, gotta find another way out of my lie...I know, I'll accuse him of some psychobabble I heard on the tube!

Fail.

Why not START by own your accomplishments, which would gain the respect of everyone worth listening to: it used to be that people would brag about getting their degree from the "school of hard knocks"

You really have to stop the silly TV psyche crap and simply READ--what part of "My multi-degreed boss regularly consults me" suggests I am somehow ashamed of my hard-won education?

And it is just that which excites so many conservatives about Palin and O'Donnell -- they are not elitists like Kerry, the Clintons, the Kennedys

Not being a Kennedy isn't enough. I don't care if O'Donnell or anyone else was born with nothing or was born with billions, character tells. Lying and suing for "mental anguish over being demoted because of my gender" is no different from anyone else who's trying to get a big payday they don't deserve--please tell me how that is being conservative? And then hiding behind the "I'm you!" crap--no, you're not me, I don't sue for millions over "mental anguish" when I dont' get a job.

You mean like owning up to having dabbled with an Ouija board (which might discourage many of her Christian base)?

When did I bring that up? What does that have to do with what I DID bring up--her inability to manage her finances while wanting to be in the body that controls our economy?

And the difference with Christine and Barney Frank is, Christine struggled, she didn't cheat and steal with other people's money, and then hide behind the press (and her own skirts,

So that $6.9 mil was her money?

She only messed up her own finances, which makes her that much more sensitive to being careful with others' money, including our descendants'.

LOL OK, so let's go round up all the biggest chapter 11 cases we can find.

I guess you'll have your car fixed not by someone who does excellent work, but by someone who's caused someone's brakes to fail, because he's that much more sensitive to what happens when he screws up?

When we twist our values to support someone on "our" side, we're screwing ourselves.

So why pick on Christine?

You keep saying that. I've not picked on her unless she's beyond criticism for her record, and if she is, what's she doing trying to become a senator?

She's either a sensitive little girl who is being picked on, or worthy of being one of only 100 senators.

Would you let her handle your finances?

I wouldn't.

Nice backing off your previous BS, btw, but your lies are still there for all to see, as are your flailing attempts here.

Cheers!

Save the cheers, just stop lying about me.

My comment was not even about O'Donnell, it was a comment on how people don't like hearing facts that are inconvenient. He stated a fact, not a lie.

Right, it was and is a fact she took a long time to get a degree.

But -- if you have repeatedly stated that "DEGREES DON'T MATTER TO ME"TM -- then why are you praising a concern troll for pointing it out?

Since you state over and over it doesn't matter to you -- then why are you emphasizing it so much?

It's almost as though you are trying to seed talking points of discontent against COD with things that don't bother you at all ...!

After telling you I don't care about degrees, why are you saying I should identify with O'Donnell because she has a degree? Learn to read.

Take your own advice, son.

You even cut-and-pasted my text, and didn't get the point.

You quoted me as saying:

One would *think* you'd identify with her and admire her spunk and 'stick-to-it-iveness'.

It's the determination I thought you'd identify with, after your life story of out-hustling those with degrees.

Who knows, maybe there's a similarity to COD, who took 12 years to get a degree, out-working a Yale grad.

No. People like you, who freak out over simple facts.

I'm not freaking out: I'm playing with a troll.

If you could see me right now, you'd see my striped tail swishing from side to side (meow).

I don't identify with O'Donnell because I'm not a conservative who doesn't pay her bills and then lies about it.

Then concentrate on that up front, rather than attacking her degrees while insisting that they don't matter, mmmkay?

Makes you look less conniving and all...

I don't identify with O'Donnell because I've never claimed to be a conservative and then sued a conservative non-profit for $6.9 million over 'mental anguish'. (Oops, there's another fact--I'm a hater.)

Hmmm, *that's* a "tell". Conservatives don't use words like "hater" even in just: but it is stock-in-trade for the liberal and the troll.

No, you just go batshit crazy against a conservative who took out one of the handpicked RINOs and may be in a position to stop any shenanigans in the Lame Duck session, and who may give the majority in the Senate to the GOP.

While voting a consistent CONSERVATIVE line.

Fascinating that you would reject her.

How do you feel about Palin? Is she a whiner too?

What about Joe Miller in AK, Haley in SC, or Bialat in MA?

You watch too much Oprah. First you say I should identify with O'Donnell because she took a long time to get a degree, now you've switched to saying I'm attacking her because I want a degree.

No, I'm asking questions *of* you, rather than assume I know.

I haven't seen Oprah in maybe twenty years, when I was forced for social reasons to sit through an episode at a relative's house.

You really have to stop the silly TV psyche crap and simply READ--what part of "My multi-degreed boss regularly consults me" suggests I am somehow ashamed of my hard-won education?

The fact that you didn't lead off with it while commenting on COD's taking so long.

I wrote:

You mean like owning up to having dabbled with an Ouija board (which might discourage many of her Christian base)?

And you cut-and-pasted then replied:

When did I bring that up? What does that have to do with what I DID bring up--her inability to manage her finances while wanting to be in the body that controls our economy?

You didn't mention it directly, but you implied she wasn't forthright. I pointed out something embarrassing and potentially damaging which she *volunteered* out of the blue.

And the difference with Christine and Barney Frank is, Christine struggled, she didn't cheat and steal with other people's money, and then hide behind the press (and her own skirts,

So that $6.9 mil was her money?

No, but she didn't steal it, as is the case with the FannieMae/FreddieMac/etc. etc.

I guess you'll have your car fixed not by someone who does excellent work, but by someone who's caused someone's brakes to fail, because he's that much more sensitive to what happens when he screws up?

No, that'd be re-electing the Dems and the RINOs. Which -- by attacking COD, you are helping to do.

She's either a sensitive little girl who is being picked on, or worthy of being one of only 100 senators.

False dichotomy. She's worthy of being Senator based on her spunk, and her fairly winning the primary in the GOP.

And her conservative positions.

Your attempts to bring her down by praising criticisms of her, on items which you loudly announce you don't even care about, make you look like a troll.

As Bill Mauldin explained of his Willie & Joe cartoons in Stars and Stripes, "I build a shoe. If someone wants to put it on and loudly announce that it fits, that's their business."

Stop attacking conservatives on a conservative site, and you won't attract negative attention.

Save the cheers, just stop lying about me.

I'm not lying about you: but you were not forthright about your reasons for criticizing COD -- it took several back-and-forth posts and some poking you with a stick to get you to come out with them.

Cheers!

"It's fun to see you sputtering on angrily for paragraphs on end."

Your Stalin-esque tactic of repeating a lie enough times and praying it will then be accepted as the truth (keep saying it over and over that the SINGLE LINE you've expended ALL of this type over was an attack on O'Donnell for not having a degree, tabby!) when you so obviously have to keep up with your Oprah psychology just so you won't have to admit you had no idea what you were talking about/

Keep whining about "trolls" when you've spent paragraph after paragraph, frustrated because I refuse to buy into the cult of personality and unquestionably fall in line behind someone who poses but doesn't walk the walk. I live my values, dude--I don't shriek hysterically over ONE SENTENCE in praise of that most horrible thing for phonies--facts.

It's fun to see you sputtering on angrily for paragraphs on end.

You keep right on with your frustration over FACTS, tabby--it's funny watching you squirm in frustration over a ball of string, when some of us demand all who wish to take control of this greatest country are merely honest and competent, and aren't fooled by labels and spin.

It's fun to see you sputtering on angrily for paragraphs on end.
