"This is probably one of the few times we're going to disagree here." -- Sean Hannity to Karl Rove regarding Christine O'Donnell.
I'll say. Even after Fox News called the Delaware GOP senatorial primary for Christine O'Donnell tonight, Karl Rove continued to rip the winner, questioning everything from O'Donnell's "rectitude" to her "character." Concluded the pessimistic Rove: "this is not a race we're going to be able to win."
Sean defended O'Donnell staunchly, but was met with a litany of Roveian criticism of Christine, including these comments:

Really makes you wonder whether someone else at the helm might have given landslide victories to Dubya, instead of nail-biting squeakers over total Democrat Duds.
Chrissakes, neck and neck battles with Algore and Lurch?
Watching and listening to Rove and McCain trash Republicans, I can't help but wonder, where was all this fire in the belly rhetoric when they were leading the party?
Rove and McCain fight harder against their own party than against Democrats.
This is insane! She answered every accusation. They’re all bullox anyway.
What tripe!!!
1. She has a letter from the IRS saying their lien was a computer error. She, like me and everybody else I know, has been repeatedly audited by the IRS. That is the same agency who says they are not responsible for their own interpretation of their rules. She, like me, paid her taxes after the IRS finished their anal exam spending thousands chasing a dime.
2. She sold her house. She has a letter from Citibank, or whomever it was, saying the house was sold privately and releasing her from her mortgage. I’ve dealt with this stupidity too, some bank makes a mistake and then you spend the rest of your life trying to prove a negative.
3. She paid off her loans. I still have outstanding student loans. Guess what, to get through college you have to either take out loans, have rich relatives, or suck up to the federal tit. Christine and I opted for loans and paid our own way. That spells personal responsibility to me.
This are just half-truths and innuendo that needs to be called out.
There is NO COMPARISON, between the outright tax cheats like Rangel, Geithner, et. al and Christine. She was audited while running for office. Guess what, they always find minor mistakes and errors. I’ve been there and done that. I learned my lesson. I hire a CPA every year, so they can deal with the IRS asking for the receipt to the refrigerator I bought in 1986. They ask for $5674, but agree to settle for $232.76 if you have a CPA.
By contrast, Rangel and Geithner were knowingly hiding significant income they KNEW was subject to taxation.
If a democrat, like that marxist Coons, writes a paper talking about how he found marxism, that’s never mentioned in the media. Christine pays her own way through school, and her student debt is euphemistically referred to negatively by none other than Karl Rove.
According to Karl, its better to have a marxist like Coons than O’Donnell?
Send the media and elites like Karl Rove a message. Donate all you can to Christine (http://www.christine2010.com/). We don’t need a marxist like Coons in the senate.
Good post. I suspect my reply to Karl will be short. Something to the effect, Back off, boy, you’re making an a$$ out of yourself, or some such. We’ll see...
You have great points, but it’s obvious Rove isn’t interested in truth. There’s something else going on here. Maybe she scorned him at one time. Who knows?
” This guy is a maniac of the first order. I’m convinced he has a personal connection to her defeat (as some have suggested here), and is taking this far beyond reason “
Yeah, I was one of them, and I state right here and now that Rove will work with the DNC to destroy this woman, and he may well succeed.
Send the Rove response to Fox News.
” Watching and listening to Rove and McCain trash Republicans, I can’t help but wonder, where was all this fire in the belly rhetoric when they were leading the party?
Rove and McCain fight harder against their own party than against Democrats. “
Rove is out to destroy her.
” I just can’t figure out why he did this... “
Read post 152 for clarification.
I had my say with emails about Rove to both Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity yesterday. However, I don't feel comfortable with sending his email. While I'm comfortable sending it to FReepers as a forwarded email, it was still a private email to me, and making it public seems not very proper. Let me think about it...
The way he kept going on, I had thought perhaps O'Donnell was an ex-wife of Rove or something.
You are right, don’t send it. I was just pissed off ;-)
I sent the email to rabscuttle385@freerepublic.com hours ago. My mail delivery system just notified me it’s still trying to deliver it. Is there something in the Free Republic email system that needs to be configured?
Try again. If delivery fails, we need to talk to someone higher up.
Good post...thank you so much.
I have to believe that the good folks in DE have seen all of the evidence, and have found her landslide worthy.
It’s too bad that Karl feels the need to call the DE voters stupid. However, I don’t think he’s hateful. I think he’s grasping at straws because he sees his power...and the recent moderate Republican meme...dwindling...thank God.
I think all of this will backfire on, not just the ‘rats and their smears, but on the establishment Republicans, in general.
Christine is gonna win!

If Rove wanted to go negative on her, he waited too freaking long. No, I’m not giving up on Rove — he probably thinks she’ll hurt us in the long term. But he’s staking his reputation on that. I suspect O’Donnell will become a deligthtful human being once she’s completely out of the rat race. Good people become even better when they have financial security.
Fortunately, these attacks seem petty. I’m just sorry that Rove is hurting himself in the process. But then again, when someone worked for an adminisration that slandered patriotic Minutemen, I guess it’s unreasonable to assume he might not have been flawed in some deep-rooted way.
Right. I’m not dissing Buckley. I think I heard Rush explain that Buckley mean’t that for presidential races, such as when McStain won the primary through crossover votes.

[All I’ve seen so far.]
But Bush’s strategy had always played favorites with Spectre and hispandering — clear policy most likely drafted by Rove.
The governor of New Jersey [Chris Christy? sic?] is paving the way.
OK, I resent the email just now. We’ll see what happens...
After ‘stinking’ it over, I’ve come to this question:
Was Rove the Source of Bush’s Evil Side?
Minutemen were the first big push for safer borders. Bush slandered them.
I suspect Rove was behind it, not to mention favoring Arlen Specter.
