“..conduct warrentless searches and seize property without due process..”

Won’t be necessary if they evacuate; the looters will take care of that.

“She needs to come to the Texas gulf area and see how you get ready for a hurricane evac. The first things you load are the guns, the ammo, the family Bible and your stash of cash.”

Are you referring to the Kenyan talking about us clingers?

What if you run out of food or water? Do you stay at home and wait? If you go out to get such and there are thugs and looters accost you and steal your stuff do you go back home get more cash and try again?

Exactly, how do you go to a store? How do you go to relatives or friends houses that dont have guns in order to arm or help them? This is another “shotgun” approach to a small poblem. Arrest and prosecute fully looters, don’t punish and disarm law abiding citizens who desire to protect themselves their friends and relatives and their property. Do these clowns even think through the crap they write? If they had crap like this on the books 150 years ago we would be speaking Comanche or Apache not English...

Far better to be judged by twelve than carried by six. I would carry anyway and let the chips fall where they may, as I get older I have started to not really give a crap about stuff like I use to.

But when there's a forced evacuation or a corrupt state, this is a dangerous law. And as eyedigress rightly points out, one might be in violation of the state law if one were to take an otherwise prudent course of action.

Agreed fully. Founders understood that our form of government would only work with a moral people. That is the danger we are in today. It applies to both citizens and our "representatives".

That too - but this particular response was re the Governor of NC enacting emergency legislation to prevent people from removing their guns from their residences when evacuating because of Hurricane Earl. Understand that Virginia also has this rule? My point was that this would never happen in Texas and I do believe we’ve had a few more hurricanes than the east coast. Just another area that many politicians in the east have no clue about how to handle. My real fear is that the liberals will use almost any excuse or legal ploy to disarm us.

The ban is on taking your weapons off your property. I disagree with the ban, but it doesn’t stop you from defending your own property from looters.

Theoretically, it is to make it easier to stop looters, since again theoretically nobody off their own property should be armed.

But this means that if you evacuate, you can’t bring protection, which means robbers know that evacuees in hotels are easy pickings.

Okay, it is late afternoon for me and I need some coffee but what does having guns have anything to do with the hurricane? Will Earl not hit the state if people don’t have guns?

I live in NC mountains, and I am plenty upset at this. You don’t think Perdue will rescind this do you? Not a chance!

"I can't imagine people shooting one-another over the last loaf of bread or roll of toilet paper."

Then, you have never been in a war zone. It happens. Desperate people do desperate things. Toilet paper and bullets were currency for a while in Bosnia while I was deployed there.

I was doing hours of research when the H1N1 vaccine came out. I recall that, depending on your own State, if the Governor of the State DECLARES a State of Emergency, they can also FORCE VACCINATE you. It all depends on each State’s own Emergency Health Powers Acts. Little known by most people is that BIG PHARMA has gone behind the scenes and lobbied with State Legislatures to not allow any EXEMPTIONS to vaccinations, including religious exemptions or even medical exemptions. Perdue is owned by corporations and special interests.

Perdu just lost her next election bid, if she runs at all.

And whats more, no declaration by a governor can end a citizens 2nd amendment rights. Taking away people’s guns just when they need them?

HORRIBLE!!!.

Nice try Governor, but no cigar.
