As most of our thoughts are now turned towards this fall and the possibility of a larger than usual loss for the party in power -- the Democrats -- we should take a minute to look ahead to the presidential contest in 2012.
With unemployment likely over the 10% mark by election day this November and hot topics like the war in Afghanistan, the spiraling deficit and immigration to name a few, the Democrats will suffer larger than usual losses but they might not be as dire as analysts and pollsters are predicting. The House and Senate may stay in control of the Democrats because in the final analysis even in an anti-incumbent mood many voters revert back to casting their ballots for someone they know rather than taking a chance with a newcomer.
However, once the midterms are over and new faces emerge on the GOP side who will immediately be cast as potential presidential possibilities in 2012, one person seems to have taken the lead for that position as we head into the 2010 midterms. That person is the ever present former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin.
While many Democrats and pundits and others may laugh and scorn the former 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidates for her views and abruptly leaving her job as governor of Alaska and many of her other behaviors that seem to many as out of the mainstream, she actually seems to be doing quite well in positioning herself for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. She is very actively promoting, endorsing and giving money to candidates who look like likely winners this November. She is on FOX News as a commentator and the public knows her views and opinions on the key issues of the day.(continued)

Wait a few posting, you will hear from some on this site that do not want to hear it either.
The God-foraking liberals go absolutely apoplectic at the mere mention of her name, and while it's fun to watch them foam at the mouth, their poison sullies the political atmosphere and lessens enthusiasm amongst the “moderates” for doing the hard work it's going to take to undo all the damage the libs have done to this nation the last 50 years.
All the more reason to MAKE 0bama prove to election officials in EACH and EVERY state that he is actually qualified under The Constitution to hold the office.
TV and all the networks plus the media support Obama 100%. The sheep in america watching TV keep them in power.
Please tell me who it should be then? In the article, the author knocks down all her major competitors. Take a look...
“some on this site that do not want to hear it either”
Yeah they usually have this resume:
* they decry the “War On Drugs”
* no one is conservative enough for them, except Ron Paul
* they hope Ron Paul will run in 2012
* every 3rd word they type is “RINO”
* every 8th word is “republicrat”
By 2012 Obama will be lucky to be the candidate for the Democrats if they have any dreams of winning a Presidential election ever again..
Wake up & smell the reality. He doesn’t give a damn about the polls. He doesn’t even care about November.
I expect it will be Hillary. They need to find a way to keep Obama off the ticket for now. If even one state manages to require him to prove his eligibility, his candidacy can be challenged after the EC votes. They cannot afford to have everything undone in one swoop.
the Left's fascination continues, but they're starting to take her seriously....
IMHO — 0’s team wants to run against Palin. If fact, the usurper is desperate to face her in 2012. She proved last time the only thing going for her is her pretty face. If you people want to hand Zero the election on a silver platter, all you have to do is support Palin.
Lots can happen between now and then. Sarah Palin wasn’t thrust out there for national attention until 2008. Of course, the people thinking about running would do so before 2012. Chris Christie has indicated he wouldn’t run, but he would be a formidable opponent against Obama. I’ve heard Paul Ryan’s name mentioned. Jim DeMint. I like Sarah Palin. I will vote for her if she is the nominee. I know one thing, she wouldn’t pussyfoot around like the top of her ticket did. She wouldn’t say he would make a fine president that’s for sure. I do hope the Romneys and the Huckabees stay out of it. We don’t need already been chewed candidates, but I fear their egos are too big to resist.
So what if people don't know Mitch Daniels? Who knew Bill Clinton or The Dali Obama two years before the election? Who knew Sarah Palin two years ago?
Haley Barbour has an accent? Clinton didn't? G Dub didn't? Obama’s got an accent. Jimmuh Carter had one. The author is really digging for reasons to dismiss some of these guys. Now that I think about it, idiot liberals make fun of Sarah Palin’s accent all the time.
Hey, if she runs and wins, that's awesome. I completely see eye to eye with her. And the MSM and the rest of the libs can eat dirt for all I care. But this isn't about what you or I may want, unfortunately, it comes down to who the least informed, wishy-washy “moderates” are going to show up and vote for.
Damnit, I did it again. I had a close friend named Ken Ryan, plus the Phillies had a pitcher and the Eagles had a guy named Ken Ryan.
PAUL Ryan

LOL Somebody slap Robert and wake him up. Not taking a chance on a newcomer doesn’t work quite so well when the incumbent is way past radioactive. Missouri’s a great barometer and just a little glimpse of how bloody November is gonna be for the dims.
