Facebook page is on fire with support for Stupak's opponent
Daniel Benishek is running for Congress against Bart Stupak. Since Stupak announced that he cut a deal with Barack Obama and will now support Health Care Reform, Benishek’s Facebook page has been on fire with well-wishes, and commitments of donations.
Benishek is pro-life, and as a surgeon knows a little about Health Care.

Nope. However, there is a bill in Congress to ammend the Constitution to allow for that. Like that will ever see the light of day.
Stupak won with about a 2-1 margin the last time around. It’s possible he wasn’t facing a strong opponent last time. In any case, the turnout generally this year will probably be lower than in a Presidential election year, so his 2010 opponent may have a real shot at winning...the anti-Stupak voters will be really energized.

Apparently, Dr. Benishek announced he was running just 5 days ago. Stupak has a Dim primary opponent, Connie Saltonstall who hates his stance on abortion and is getting $$$ from baby killers every where.
Ok... i’ll type it one more time. These people do NOT care about Reelection. They knew they were doomed either way. It will be up to the States & the SCOTUS to fight this once it passes tonight. Just think...tomorrow it’s onto Immigration Reform & Cap & Tax... Yaaaa !
You raise a very good point. Until a few minutes ago I'd not heard of the guy and I own property in that district which I visit often. Republicans in Michigan do not have a strong party organization to rely upon. The MIaGop is usually m.i.a. It will be interesting to see if they take any steps to help this guy or if they do the usual thing and lead by lack of example.

I haven’t any reason to doubt the man’s creds at this point, but this is sudden and I’d like to be sure. My hand is clutching my ink pen poised at the check book.

Obama, Jr. won’t have to revoke it. At the first opportunity, a court will vitiate the order and to no one’s surprise declare that without the Hyde Amendment, the law requires such funding.
