I've been thinking about this for a while and I've come to the conclusion that there are basically 4 different types of political people in the world.
First, you have those who don't want to be responsible for anything. There own actions, lives, children, ...etc. They want someone else to be responsible for them and take care of them. They want someone else to provide everything they want. They only want to do whatever gives them pleasure without any consequences. Let's call this group the lazies. They want the school system to be their babysitters. They want the government to provide them with income without having to actually work. They want everyone else to forgive their mistakes because 'their poor'.
Next, we have those who want to give the lazies whatever they want by taking it from wherever they can get it. These are the power-hungry. The power-hungry know that they can convince the lazies to give them power to provide what the lazies want. Whenever the lazies cry that they need something, the power-hungry tell them that 'if you'll just give us the power, we'll give you what you want'. And the lazies go for it.
Third is the ostriches. I call them the ostriches because this group goes about its merry way and says and does nothing about all the injustice and wrong that is perpetrated by the power-hungry. They will avoid all discussion of whose is abusing power. Most of the ostriches don't vote, but some just vote without doing any homework about who they're voting for. The ostriches who vote, do so because 'that's how my family has always voted'.
Lastly are the self-reliant. This group wants to be able to live and do in a free environment. This group acknowledges that there has to be some form of government or there would be either chaos or invasion. However, the self-reliant want only that bit of government that protects them from outside force or inside abuse. That's all. The self-reliant know that when left alone, they can be and do anything that they have a mind to do. They can build a small business into a big business. They can serve others and gain accolades. They can provide jobs. The self-reliant are the ones who forged this nation from 13 tiny colonies and defeated the army of the largest superpower at the time.
These four political philosophies have existed from the beginning of time. That's why kings have been around from the beginning. But, in the US, the proportion of the populace that consisted of the self-reliant held the vast majority for many years. But when the power-hungry began to have great influence in education, the proportion of the population that were NOT self-reliant began to grow. Now, the proportion of the population is almost 50-50, self-reliant to non. That is why the politics of today is so divided to the extremes.
If only the lazies and ostriches really knew what is in store for them if the power-hungry are able to truly control this country. The power-hungry do what they do only because they want power. They provide 'gifts' to the lazies because they'll get power. They will continue to give out small concessions until they get what they ultimately want... power. Once that happens, then they have no reason to give out anything. Then, they'll start taking. From whomever has it.
My purpose of posting this is to start us thinking. What will it take to get you to say, "No more". Whoever you are, what will it take for you to say "Stop". Because, one day, you'll reach that point. The only other thing you need to think about NOW is "who will be with me to say NO?"

I think you are being optimistic with your 50/50 estimate.
Type #5. Lethargic and uninformed. We’ll call them the GLOBULES. Half the population.

Actually, we should be listed as the FIRST because we’re going to be THE LAST ONES standing. :)

For the idiots that are running around out there and are allowed to vote their own interests and not the good of our country, it’s going to be when that first Government check doesn’t arrive on time, and not a minute sooner.
But, by then, it’ll be too late for them.
