Marvel Comic's Captain America is the mightiest soldier with the super powerful secret soldier formula that makes him a super man. Sadly, this muscle bound hero that took on the whole Nazi army during WWII seems to be afraid of those American people who've joined the Tea Party movement. Not only is Cappy quaking in his little red booties, but he's sure that the Tea Party folks are dangerous racists, too.
Isn't it wonderful that a decades old American comic book hero is now being used to turn readers against our very political system, being used to slander folks that are standing up for real American principles in real life -- and one called "Captain America" at that?
In issue number 602 of Captain America, a new story line has begun called "Two Americas." In it the current Captain (there have been a few of them, apparently) is on the trail of a faux Captain America that is mentally deranged and getting chummy with some white supremacist, anti-government, survivalists types going by the name of "the Watchdogs." While investigating this subversive group, Captain America and his partner The Falcon -- a black super hero -- have decided to try and infiltrate the secretive organization.
In preparation for the infiltration, Marvel Comics depicts the two super heroes out of costume and observing from a rooftop a street filled with what can only be described as a Tea Party protest. The scene shows crowds of people in city streets carrying signs that say, "stop the socialists," "tea bag libs before they tea bag you," and "no to new taxes." Naturally, the people in these crowds are depicted as being filled with nothing but white folks...

I remember christian comics when i was young and going to a baptist church school. They were much simpler in the art back then, but same message.
There was also a manga bible published a few years ago trying to help spread the word to the anime/hot topic crowd.

There was a time I really loved Captain America. I’m glad I got out of reading comics years ago. Co-creator Jack Kirby must be spinning in his grave. I remember with great fondness Cap’s battles with archetypical anti-American villain, the Red Skull. I remember Cap’s bid to stop the USA from falling under Red Skull’s terrorist traps in a long multi-issue story leading up to the Bicentennial. I remember Cap’s oversized Marvel Treasury Edition, “Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles” that touted a true conservative America-loving spirit. (I see the issue’s spine on my bookshelf, even as I type.) Well, what do we expect from a company that touted Obama propaganda in its Spider-Man issues during the last prez election? If you want to turn your kids onto some great comic book reading, share the golden and silver age issues or reprints with them, not the current liberal sludge that’s being churned out. And no longer “Make Mine Marvel!” What a bunch of losers they’ve become.
I haven’t picked up a Marvel title since the glory days of Jack Kirby ‘s Captain America]/i] and Jim Steranko’s Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD!
The last DC Comics I looked at involved Gotham City being hit by an earthquake while Batman and a new, totally awesome Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) tried to help the GCPD restore and maintain order.
After that, both DC and Marvel seemed to go off the grid with too many off the wall titles, plots and alternate universe nonsense that I’ve just about given up.
Jack.
Marvel has been lib for some time. Let’s not forget that Stan Lee himself was a big time Obama supporter (and a lifetime Dem).
Marvel Comic’s going to go the way of the MSM - - they need to ask around to see if giving the finger to half the population is a good idea... They can ask most newspapers - TIME and Newsweek - CBS, NBC and ABC - for starters.
I stopped buying new comics when Disney pulled the Uncle Scrooge liscence from Gladstone. I mainly purchase DC’s Showcase Presents series of reprints of various characters from the 1950’s thru the early 1980’s, 500+ pages in B&W for around $12. Good stuff from my childhood.

Is this steve Rogers (I thought he was dead?!?) or bucky?I had to go and do some digging because I hadn't bought a Cappy book in decades. But as I can find on the Internet tubuals... the original WWII Captain America, Steve Rogers, was thought to be dead but was in a "time rift" of some sort. Bucky took over for Steve and is now the official Cappy. Rogers is back out of the time rift but is listed as retired.
I’m dumping ‘em in a plastic hefty baggette and filling it with the deadly toxin di-hydrogen oxide. No way to recover them, after that and the colorized mush will represent the demise of a once great publisher.
Depends on which “volume” and publishing of captian america. Thats true in some publishings, in others he died when he was assassinated exiting the courthouse at the very end of marvel civil war. Punisher took over for a bit as captian america but then handed off the shield and cape to bucky/winter soldier after he decided that his ways would not have made cap proud.
I was hoping he’d be stopping pantybombers.
I was hoping hed be stopping pantybombers.Well, gosh, don;t you know that the REAL terrorists are white guys at tea parties?? Come on... GET WITH THE PROGRAM! :)
“Its been DC all the way ever since: Blackest Night, Green Lantern and Batman (Dick Grayson) ever since.”
DC has gone PC, too. Was`nt the original Green Lantern killed off or disgraced for being a racist?
Wow. That must be an old one. The “new” Capt. America would be putting down the Vietnam War as imperialist/racist aggression and would be calling Vietnam Vets war criminals.
“So, dissent is patriotic when liberals do it but un-patriotic and treasonous when conservatives do it ... ok, I get it ....”
Libs were accused of being un-patriotic, un-American, and traitors for opposing Bush`s policies and opposing/marching in anti-Iraq war marches. They just consider this pay-back time.
