Let's just say I'm not stupid enough to stop providing my family with health insurance coverage BUT here's how my scenario would work out if I did ... and you can bet your sweet a$$ that others have figured this out ... particularly young single middle-class men and women with expendable incomes ... and your stupid federal government? Not so much.

Or, rather young middle-class professionals who don’t want to WASTE their money.
Which denomination doesn’t believe in medicine, Christian Scientists?
I’m going to join up. There has to be a religious exemption.
You got that right....the Singles and the Dinks are gonna love this...and it’s another reason to live the hedonistic life...
Health care pros will disappear, and costs will skyrocket.
Maybe we should just make up a new one. (since that has a proven track record)
What would it be like?
Five of my neighbors are doctors. At least one has admitted he will quit medecine when this goes into effect. He is an ER doctor, too, the kind that is important to trauma centers.
“Well when you are done paying penalties you still have to buy insurance from somebody before you will be treated....”
Without getting into what form “The Mark” will actually take; at some point in the near future you will also be denied treatment if you do not have the Mark of the Beast on your right hand or on your forehead! Get ready, folks. We ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!
Is there a union local 666? ;-)
How is the federal government going to know if I have health insurance? How could they possibly enforce this?
Dude...think big picture. If I’m single, young, healthy, and paying outright for my care anyway, why the hell would I take Obamacare? I’ll keep more of my own money even if I pay the fine AND still pay for my own care. Who needs it?
How can Obama and Gordoom Brown enforce a climate agreement? With cops. Lots of cops: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article6963482.ece#cid=OTC-RSS&attr=3392178
Whatever works for you. We’ll all be running the numbers when we actually have something in written law. I would prefer the whole program would just get the big flush
before we need to do that.
Add to that the large number of doctors in this country that regect medicare patients owing to the fact that the gubmint consistantly underpays those claims, this spells disaster for our medical service.
I've read and heard that you will have to prove to the IRS every year that you have insurance. Isn't that great ... putting enforcement in the hands of the only branch of the government that can reach right into your bank account and/or levy everything you own if they deem it necessary?
“How is the federal government going to know if I have health insurance? How could they possibly enforce this?”
Leprecauns turned snitches? Faeries become informants? Little green men reporting on all us non-joiners - I have no idea.
The really interesting aspect of all this is that there exist private care physicians who do not accept insurance and the patients pay cash. Doctors who do this charge low rates, make money, and have a following of faithful patients.
But Hell! What do I know - it sounds too logical, too common sensical.
Every year I have to prove to my state that I have auto insurance. Just multiply that by 50.
Bump.
