        All I can say is, “WOW”.

        “Avatar” is a 3-D feast for the eye which should propel James Cameron to the status of legend. In fact, after a decade or two of perspective, I fully expect that this groundbreaking work will be studied in the best film schools, right about the time they are covering Riefenstahl.

        Seldom has a film been made which combines cutting edge technology, the highest standards of quality, and a deep, self-indulgent loathing of all things which The Left despises about America. I honestly don't remember the last time I found myself booing and hissing at a film as the end credits started rolling.

If you want to see something worthwile see “Blind Side” It is about a Christian family that walks the walk and shows Christian love to a homeless boy. Ya, Hollywood actually made it. I saw the family on Fox last night. They are the real deal and humble too. BTW the football player Michael just started his rooky year in the NFL.

Me too, that scene where he wrapped himself in the American flag, loved it. Milch the creator of “Deadwood” explained how he beats the new code of Political Correctness he uses the “bad” guys to convey the message like the days of Hayes code the bad guys are the bearers of the radical message.

The Blind Side was a great movie. I went with my wife on Saturday. It told me that the American family is much more capable of taking care of disadvantaged children than the government is.

I saw this movie and can add my 2 cents.

I heard all of the “evil corp” vs. “environmentalists” stories and almost didn't see it to support the cause, but I am such a sci. fi. junky that I went anyway.

If you don't want to see it because you don't want to support the liberals in Hollywood, then I completely understand that. But if you were thinking of seeing it and thought it looked interesting, I would recommend seeing it, in the theater.

I am a recovering environmental wacko (20 years ago), that today believes VERY strongly in limiting the fed govt to what is in the Constitution. I'm very conservative, libertarian leanings except NO to legal drugs, and YES to military+ involvment to push back the communists (and socialists..) throughout the world.

I went in with low expectatioins, because I was afraid the story would piss me off. It didn't. The things they did made sense. The “bad guys” did not have US uniforms and blue did not lead the way. They were private mercs hired by the corp, though most were ex-mil. The corp was bad in a sense, but mostly because they were blind to what was in front of them. The movie did not show the benifits of the mineral they were after, but if you think logically, there had to be some, or they wouldn't want it. To me the story line made sense and I did not link it with current day events.

The natives were not all love and peace. They had weapons, obviously for a purpose. They had violent tendencies. You cannot make direct comparisons to earth, because the ecology of the world, Pandora, is very different. Yes, some similarities to American Indians (tribal), but also differences.

They made a reference to “Shock and Awe”, but I did not take it as a negative, or saying something bad about Iraq. I just took it as it was a term that made it into our vocabulary to mean an intense attack meant to scare the crap out of your enemy. This is actually true. It can be a good or bad thing, depending on the situation.

Not all sides are shown to be exactly the same. There are mercs that are good (ok one...), there are natives that are violent (lots). Probably the worst steriotype was the scientists, they were all golden (which we know is not true, cough... climategate..cough)

The world of Pandora in 3D is totatlly amazing. I am going to see the movie again just to see it. The detail is increadable. The creatures, even insects, are unique and interesting.

The romance is strangely hot. Not sure if I should say more here....

There is religion, and its shown in a good way. Take what you can get these days I guess.

All in all, I really liked the movie. If you want to stick it to liberal hollywood, don't go see it, but if you want to see an increadible world and good story, go in without wanting to link everything you see to current events, and you will like the movie.

I enjoyed reading your comment Miloh. A week or so ago I was on an earlier thread about this movie and everyone was panning it and flaming those who had any good thoughts about it. I equate that with book banning. You have to make your own decisions about things.

They ranted about all the 'anti American' and anti military basis for it. I asked one person if he thought he would be able to watch it as an informed adult or if he feared being instantly converted to a liberal if he went to see it, lol.

I would love to see this movie purely for the fantasy and special effects but am unable to hear well at movies. How I would love to see the 3-D effects! It's the biggest 3-D release in history and opened to $232M worldwide.

Fairy Tales, cartoons, the old shoot 'em up westerns, they all had violence in them, and perhaps an underlying 'theme' that we weren't even aware of. Some people would probably 'see' liberal agendas in them too. Somehow all the kids who grew up watching them didn't go around killing people.

The fact that it had a huge worldwide opening is a good reason to be concerned about its anti-American message. Why should we be indifferent towards a film that promotes anti-Americanism to an international audience?

I dislike is as much as anyone Yardstick, but I am able to watch for myself and see and understand that bias.

If we only watched what ‘conservatives’ had to say, what would we learn from that? We have to see, listen and hear for ourselves. Don’t you agree?

Years ago I would watch Bill Mayer on his late night show, just to hear the outrageous things he said. I joined in in writing to help get his show removed. Had I not listened, I would not have been aware. That’s where I first saw Barbara Olson, on his show.
