They ranted about all the 'anti American' and anti military basis for it. I asked one person if he thought he would be able to watch it as an informed adult or if he feared being instantly converted to a liberal if he went to see it, lol.
I would love to see this movie purely for the fantasy and special effects but am unable to hear well at movies. How I would love to see the 3-D effects! It's the biggest 3-D release in history and opened to $232M worldwide.
Fairy Tales, cartoons, the old shoot 'em up westerns, they all had violence in them, and perhaps an underlying 'theme' that we weren't even aware of. Some people would probably 'see' liberal agendas in them too. Somehow all the kids who grew up watching them didn't go around killing people.

Does it bother you when people complain about liberal bias in the news?
The fact that it had a huge worldwide opening is a good reason to be concerned about its anti-American message. Why should we be indifferent towards a film that promotes anti-Americanism to an international audience?
