Lou Dobbs talks to Jeffrey Lord from the American Spectator, and why he is against an effort by the Catholic Church to bring down talk radio and hosts like Rush Limbaugh. Must see!!!!
That is strange, and again not within the teachings of the church.
I guess if we can have some priests ordaining women without the consent of the church, there can be those that follow Mary. So sad. (Eventually those priests are ex-communicated.)
I stand corrected.
Thanks again.
Warmest regards,
Jay
If a group worships Mary, or any creature, then it is not Catholic. Doesn’t matter what they call themselves.
As a non-catholic there is an obvious problem in the Catholic church.
MANY prominent liberals are Catholics. Pelosi, Kerry, Kennedy and so on. Catholics have voted for them, catholics work for them and catholics donate money to them.
The problem isn’t isolated to Catholics but others will condemn people outside the fold.
NOT grudgingly OR of necessity.
That means WITHOUT COMPULSION.
"Liberation Theology" types want to take money from "the rich" by threat of force and give it to "the poor".
This is extortion and robbery.
God loves a CHEERFUL GIVER; someone who gives out of the goodness of his heart.
I hear ya but the churches apparently have Catholic $$ and catholic signs on the door.
Please forgive me, it was not my intent to change this thread. Its simply unfortunate that so much evil is being done under false pretenses and we need to work together to stop it.
No argument here. And trying to “convert” them is a useless task.
I’m attend a baptist church, one thing I like about them is they will not allow anyone to be a leader who doesn’t walk the talk. They don’t allow people like Pelosi to use the church to push their personal agenda.
Too many Catholics, unfortunately, have forgotten this 1878 encyclical on Socialism, which is very much still in force:
http://www.ewtn.com/library/ENCYC/L13APOST.HTM
Some excerpts:
“Lured, in fine, by the greed of present goods, which is “the root of all evils which some coveting have erred from the faith,” they assail the right of property sanctioned by natural law; and by a scheme of horrible wickedness, while they seem desirous of caring for the needs and satisfying the desires of all men, they strive to seize and hold in common whatever has been acquired either by title of lawful inheritance, or by labor of brain and hands, or by thrift in one’s mode of life. “
“For, indeed, although the socialists, stealing the very Gospel itself with a view to deceive more easily the unwary, have been accustomed to distort it so as to suit their own purposes, nevertheless so great is the difference between their depraved teachings and the most pure doctrine of Christ that none greater could exist: “for what participation hath justice with injustice or what fellowship hath light with darkness?”7 Their habit, as we have intimated, is always to maintain that nature has made all men equal, and that, therefore, neither honor nor respect is due to majesty, nor obedience to laws, unless, perhaps, to those sanctioned by their own good pleasure. But, on the contrary, in accordance with the teachings of the Gospel, the equality of men consists in this: that all, having inherited the same nature, are called to the same most high dignity of the sons of God, and that, as one and the same end is set before all, each one is to be judged by the same law and will receive punishment or reward according to his deserts.”
“For, while the socialists would destroy the “right” of property, alleging it to be a human invention altogether opposed to the inborn equality of man, and, claiming a community of goods, argue that poverty should not be peaceably endured, and that the property and privileges of the rich may be rightly invaded, the Church, with much greater wisdom and good sense, recognizes the inequality among men, who are born with different powers of body and mind, inequality in actual possession, also, and holds that the right of property and of ownership, which springs from nature itself, must not be touched and stands inviolate.”
They’ll usually use the “give unto Caesar” quote as justification.
WHO is saying that the Catholic Church is trying to “bring down” talk radio hosts? This sounds like a really idiotic accusation...
(There are many who call themselves “Catholic” but who do not practice their faith. The Catholic Church is neither liberal nor conservative. It is a spiritual entity.)
Interesting, thanks for posting that.
This is just another attack on Catholics. The “church” in question is the VERY LIBERAL United Church of Christ; Catholic Church authorities merely asked to see the document, because the Church is fearing prosecution under hate speech laws because of its opposition to gay marriage.
They’re also missing “Thou shalt not steal” and “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods”.
Until Pelosi and Kerry are refused communion I have to believe there is a powerful component of the Catholic church which supports their ideology.
It is the liberals in Church, who support Obama that give the rest of us faithful Catholics a bad name. I wish they would just leave the Church.
> Theyll usually use the give unto Caesar quote as justification.
Yes, another quote taken out of context.
Even the Apostle Paul called upon his rights as a Roman citizen when treated unjustly by the authorities. They had more respect for what that meant than the communists in the “Liberal” churches and the communists in our own government.
The people in THIS country have a RIGHT to determine how the government spends the money it takes from them by threat of force.
What the Church SHOULD be doing, is working on the HEARTS of the people, NOT THEIR WALLETS!
If they win the hearts, the wallets will follow.
Nobody likes to be compelled by threat of force to do anything.
Well, the Pope would not allow himself to be photographed with Pelosi when she made her little trip to Rome earlier this year. But what can you do in the good old U.S of A? We still have freedom of speech here, unless and until Pelosi and her minions have their way. There’s no way to shut her up, or the millions like her who call themselves “cafeteria Catholics.”
“Theres no way to shut her up, or the millions like her who call themselves cafeteria Catholics.”
There’s no way to shut types like her up. You can publicly denounce her as a Catholic and kick her out of the church.
As it stands she gets the best of both worlds.
