What's Glenn Beck Up To? Something Big, He Says Hey -- we like conspiracies too! Here's one, with some fact attached to it: conservative media icon Glenn Beck is planning something big -- very big -- for 2010. On his radio show yesterday, Beck alluded to a major nationwide mobilization project of some kind that he and some colleagues will soon announce. "If you think the 9/12 project was something...you ain't seen nothing yet," he said (roughly -- I didn't have a pen handy when he uttered this). Beck's 9/12 project brought tens of thousands of his ideological compatriots to rallies in D.C., and thousands more at rallies across the country. The event, he insisted, was "non-political" -- about sending a message to leaders that the feeling of American solidarity the day after 9/11/01 was worth fighting for. But Beck, at the time, also announced a follow-on project, "2010: In Or Out," asking people to determine whether their elected representatives support a five-part pledge. That was the first step, he implied, of several to come.

Reform the Republican Party or doom us all.
As I said in my long post, I cede 2nd Pl. to know Freeper in my clear warnings preceding the 2006 election about the path we were headed on. I remember Bush bots attacking my warnings as the pukings of defeatism. Please do not lecture me that I have not recognized the declensions of the Republican establishment.
Just as I warned about Bush and where he was leading the party, I now warn you about Glenn Beck. You and I as conservatives cannot get power unless we get control of the Republican Party.
Don’t you understand we cannot reform the republican party so long as they are winning elections without bowing to us?
I didn't squander anything, I've been kicking and screaming every inch of the way. I raised so much Hell about Bush 41 that Jeb called me at work. I raised Hell about Bush 43, here on Free Republic, before it was kosher to do so.
It isn't a matter of disloyalty to the party, it is a matter of loyalty to principles, republican principles.
I've been told, "just get the right people elected, they'll do the right thing then"! THEY DON'T!
There doesn't seem to be a limit to how far left they will go to be popular, stay in power, and rake in the big bucks! If they can replace my vote with a gay vote or an illegal alien vote they will throw me under the bus in a heart beat! THEY ARE NOT LOYAL TO ME, OR REPUBLICAN PRINCIPLES!
Maybe that is why Obama gives him just enough opposition as to increase his viewership but doesn't actually come up against him. Now that would be brilliant. I am not sure if Obama and his gage are that smart, though.
Conservatives need to be aware of traps that may be being set for us!
I would like to, but i don’t know how to reconcile our disagreement. You understand the declension of the GOP, but you think we can’t get power back without them.
There just isn’t time to bring the GOP back up to where they’re supposed to be and even if there were time, most of the GOP establishment wouldn’t be willing anyway, because they are entrenched in their powerful positions. And that is because we continue to vote for them even tho they don’t vote according to the desires of their constituents.
Maybe you can explain to me why they do that.
BTW, i didn’t mean to insult you. What i would like is for us to work together and listen to each other, because i have observed you over the years and i know you are a person of integrity. The likelihood is that neither of us is 100% correct on this. If you’re flexible, try to look at my position with an open mind and i will give you the same accomodation.
Regards, unc.
You and Rush are right. The Republican Party is the only viable vehicle to take out the democrats. Your analysis of the fate of third parties is, as far as I can tell, accurate and spot on. What is so damned frustrating is that the Republican Party pushes the tea baggers and other Patriots away. A way needs to be found to get their attention.
I think that:
1.) it is important to vote in primaries and encourage like minded people to show up for those elections to try to assure that the best Republican wins in those arenas.
2.) Never ever donate money directly to Republican Party organizations, they share it with RINOs, but primarily pay for their staffs, offices, and solicitors. Mrs. RushLake and I give directly to specific candidates. We're not rich, but we try to target deserving conservatives like Marco Rubio, Tim Walberg, Mike Rogers.
If a way could be found to encourage everyone who cares about the future to donate in such a manner that could mean a lot more money going where it should.
3.) Monitor the people we donate to as suggested above. If they screw up, they're done next trip out. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, I read that somewhere.
When I receive a phone call or mail from some organization looking for money that represents itself as on our side, I have started asking, "Tell me about your successes and victories that you've paid for with donations." I don't let them get away with a litany of their intentions, just the facts ma'am.
I don’t think God get’s involved in politics myself.
THERE IS A REVOLUTION COMING!!! Its either gonna be Obamas or its gonna be ours. But the GOP isnt gonna go there. So we must go there on our own and en masse and NOW!
I totally agree but WHEN is this revolution going to happen?
Sitting on a computer on FR isn’t going accomplish a damned thing.
For a long time I have been a third party advocate but I don't think, unless something changes, the time is now. I could even see floating the possibility and if it doesn't take off like a bird in the sky have the candidate succeed near the end and ask his voters to go Republican. It will do no good when the Country is on the brink of a communist dictatorship or some form equally as repulsive to have the Conservative vote split.
How do you think we should stop the leftward slide of the GOP then? Should we just let them go, dragging us along?
I don’t claim to have the solution. I’m only putting out a warning call of what’s coming.
I wish i could do something more tangible than typing my thoughts out to onto the internet, but at this time I am in the Philippines on a work assignment.
But i hope to hell that there are people in every city and small town in America that have ideas of what citizens can and should do. I wish that these cities and towns would have citizen meetings where ideas and information is shared.
What we can all do at the very least is to talk to people and educate them on what is happening. Forward the articles posted here on FR to all your email contacts. Don’t be afraid of being called this or that name. Just get the word out because there are so many people who don’t have the time to stay on top of what is happening in this country and therefore don’t have a clue the trouble we’re in.
It is my view that the Republic has never been under such a threat to the very structure of our constitutional system since the Civil War. Neither the progressive Era of Woodrow Wilson nor the New Deal, posed such a threat. We are in a mortal struggle for the liberty of our children.
If we lose the 2010 election-that is if we do not severely dent the Democrats hold on the majority-we might never be able to reverse the tide. If we do not unhorse Obama in 2012, it is more likely than not that the Republic will become unrecognizable to Americans of my generation.
The danger is imminent and the danger is mortal. The question is, is this the time to fight the Democrats or is this the time to fight establishment Republicans? I do not shrink from any battle against establishment Republicans so long as the battle is over control of the party. I would favor a jihad against the Olympia Snowes and the Lindsay Grahams. But if they win their primaries (are they up?) in this season, I think we must support them in the general. I do not oppose, indeed I insist on reform of the Republican Party. But that is not what Glenn Beck is proposing, I don't think. I might be wrong but every indication is that he is looking to establish a third-party movement.
Swamp sniper is quite right to disregard those who say vote for the man. I join him in saying vote for the principle. But we must be wise as serpents. It is so easy to react with righteous indignation when we know the sons of bitches in the party establishment are patronizing us and using us. I say, raise such a ruckus that they become intimidated by us. They will go with the flow. If they think we have clout they will accommodate us. They are still in the business of winning elections. I have no doubt they are informed of much of what goes on here at Free Republic, just as I have no doubt that they can read the tea leaves from these recent elections across the breadth of the country. I have no doubt that they will be stiffened by the gubernatorial contests in Virginia and New Jersey. They can read a balance sheet, they will know that their contributions have fallen off. They're likely to get religion very quickly.
As Ronald Reagan said, "if you cannot make them see the light, make them feel the heat."
To the degree that we can replace individuals in the Republican establishment-and I would begin with the party chairman-we can move the party toward conservatism. To the degree that we can intimidate the rest, we will achieve the same purpose. Will the remedy last? No, of course not. But we will have a country worth fighting over. For example, even the Republican Party deteriorated after Reagan because it is in human nature, or at least in the nature of political parties, to behave as I described in my long post.
We do not have time to contrive a third-party in 50 states we have to use the apparatus that exists. It is much easier to reform the Republican Party from the top down than it is to construct a brand new party in 50 states. I think we can take over the Republican Party or at least intimidate it into good behavior through the next elections. Thereafter we can tweak it at our leisure.
Their is no good goddamned reason why any member of the "Progressive Congressional Caucus" should be allowed to walk around and espouse their commie red agenda unmolested by the right.
These people are card carrying marxists and proud of it, secure in the knowledge that the GOP country clubbers are not up for a fight lest they be called McCarthyites.
This has to stop.
Then let the clarion call go out against the RINOs. They must be voted out! They are the enemy to our Republic not all Republicans! The old expression "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" is a perfect description of what Beck has been doing. That is not to say that I do not like or watch Beck. I appreciate him and the work he does but he needs to get it right on this point or he could inadvertently be the downfall of The USA. I know that is definitely what he is trying to fight against.
We need to help him see what is at stake and to be fair and honest about the Republicans who have been standing up for what is right. He needs to get on target and work to oust the RINOs and strengthen the resolve of the others.
I think it is kind of the motto of his show that he is independent. It makes people think that he is unbiased and independent. We just cannot afford it right now. The stakes are far too high and we must consolidate under one banner. United we will stand, divided we will fall. This is possibly exactly what the Obama crew are hoping for. Let's not do it. Let us everyone warn Beck of what is happening.
How do you propose we raise such a ruckus?
To go raiding against the Republican national committee is a positive suggestion. Michael Steele has got to go. We need an articulate spokesman who can kick ass and take names and who can nationalize the 2010 election and discipline the party.
I agree with you about the socialists and communists in Congress. I think the Black Congressional Caucus should be as politically incorrect as the Ku Klux Klan. The very idea that self-proclaimed communists and socialists can find prominence in this administration and in its party, should be the starting point for every Republican candidate.
I would wager that there are some very nervous establishment Republicans right now.
It is. I would also add that this is a worldwide communist coup. There is no place to hide from it. It is what they've always dreamt of but never could quite pull off. The Russian Revolution was meant to be worldwide but they had to settle. Now, however, the fruit is ripe and they are as close as they've ever come.
