Apparently, he is bitter about being dropped from the advertising income from them.

Since the people at Powerline have made a big public announcement about it, I’ll just say that I’m not the least surprised that they’ve delinked LGF. Powerline has been going in a very bad direction recently; the “all Obama-hatred, all the time” focus is bad enough, but worse are their articles supporting European extremists like Geert Wilders (who wants to deprive Muslims of the freedom of religion and ban books) and outright fascists like the Belgian Vlaams Belang party.
I’ve been considering removing them from my links for quite some time because of this kind of disturbing stuff, but I was foolish enough to believe they might come to their senses. I’ve written emails to them about it (which weren’t returned), and I wrote a post laying out my case, that they completely ignored. Clearly, this is a direction they’ve chosen, so I’ve removed all links to Powerline from LGF.
In drastic changes of political stances like Johnson’s, there is usually a personal motivation behind it all that we don’t get to see.
With David Brock and Andrew Sullivan, it was fairly obvious that they were being ostracized by the gay men that they wanted to sleep with, so they did a political 180 just to keep getting laid.
I would assume that aomething happened in Charles Johnson’s personal life that has forced this chang. A romantic relationship, a difficult incident with parent or relative, or something like that.
Charles Johnson is a friggin’ egotistical moron. He’s not really worth much discussion beyond that.
I was at LGF the other day looking at a thread on the Rifqa Bary story— the 16 year old muslim who became a Christian and fears for her life— and , damn, those nutjobs are whackier than the moonbats at DUmmy Land. No need for me to ever go back.

Too bad. LGF used to make a lot of real contributions. But something bizarre happened, and now they seem to be pro-Obama, pro-Muslim all the time.
It’s been noticeable for quite a while. Glad to hear that Powerline pulled the plug on them.

I no longer to to LGF. I am completely fed up with Mr. Johnson's vilifying fellow conservatives. My concern is that he is also closely affiliated with Pajamas Media. I need to spend a little more time at that site, because it also used to be pretty good.
I disagree with a lot of conservatives; thinking for yourself is part of being conservative. No two thinking people are going to think the same, so we have a lot more differing viewpoints. It only works for people who sincerely believe in the First Amendment, who are interested in learning now just spewing and have the capacity for respecting people with whom you do not always agree...you know, grownups.

During Katrina, Charles tells everybody to “take that Katrina stuff elsewhere,” so Gulf Coast Pundit is created.
I notice all the best researchers, writers, commenters, and personalities he starts banning end up there, so over I go... and get banned in the steal of the night- no warning, no refund of the money I sent him when he was poor-mouthing about having trouble keeping his site open.
Pity... he once did decent work exposing militant Islam and the Rathergate graphic was clever ( Although Buckhead at Free Republic caught it first ) but his best days are passed, now.
Johnson has apparently been smoking the same joint that Andrew Sullivan has been toking on.

Charles wasn’t really ever a conservative as much as he was pro-war. He just went home to roost. I used to make LGF a regular stop, but there’s no point now as it’s just a milquetoast KOS.
