This idea of freedom of speech is going to far with this Tea Party Express. White people in RV driving from city to city disrupting the townhouse meetings. Everyone wants and needs healthcare but the wealthy wants tax cuts, they can pay for healthcare for themselves and others. It won't stiphened their income. I think President Obama's Healthcare reform is great it allows people who can't afford healthcare to have it. That what the Hatians do. It's not socialism it's called taking care of your country so we can stand strong against the enemy. This capital government is a mess, Let me get mines and bump everyone else. WHERE IS YOUR HEART?
I just take the stuff over to that opening for that weirdo dimension and toss it in.
Good morning! I try to take pictures in a clear area, like the small hall at the foot of the stairs.
We’ve been to the bank, where I cashed the check OldTax-lady sent for Tom’s birthday and bought a Visa Gift Card for the group from church that’s going to a retreat in New York. They can buy gas or food, as long as they pray for me!
Then we went to the library and I got three more Midsomer Murders. Cornelius Fudge, Dolores Umbridge, and young Tom Riddle were in the last one I saw!
You could always rig up a vacuum suction so that all you’d have to do is put the stuff in a pile, engage the suction and save yourself some work.
;o]
Ohmy!
I’ll have to request those books...
I need something fun to read. I just finished “The Onion Field” again. I didn’t recall it had so much court stuff, but I DID notice that Wambaugh wrote himself in there with no name.
I like the ambience of manually tossing stuff in and hearing, “Hey! Cut that out!” in return.
Mmm. There IS that.
Yep - every time I consider buying something for the house, my first thought is "What will the cats do to this?"
I wish I didn't have so many (8), but I couldn't pawn off any of the kittens (I TRIED, oh how I tried) and didn't have the heart to drown them. Most of them spend most of their time outside. The shelters are ankle-deep in cats people can't afford in this economy, so I don't feel like I can dump them there either. I don't hate them, there are just too many.
Though sometimes I do have to dodge a tentacle or three in return.
Keep your beeber handy and put it on Stune. That should work.
Beeber Stuner mk5.
Kewl!
The catz, the dog, the byos, the baby ... I’m resigned to just replacing the furniture occasionally, and repainting if we ever put the house up for sale!
Do you have your adult female cat spayed? I plan to get my friend across the street a “spay or neuter” coupon from my vet for Christmas. She’s always ending up with kittens!
Bill just turned up with questions about Tennyson’s poem “Ulysses,” so I read it to him and whatever else was about (the dragons, at least), and helped him with the questions. “Wow, I had no idea it meant *that*!” says the hapless youth.
I can’t help Bill with his math anymore, but I can still dazzle him with my literary interpretation skills!
Oh YES. She and all her offspring are out of the reproduction business. I will say she remains grateful for being taken in. She must remember what it's like to be homeless, starving and heavily pregnant - she popped out seven kittens (two didn't make it) three days after we got her. There was a second litter six months later because that's how long the waiting list at the low-cost clinic is. A few runaways (I hope they found homes) and one taken-in stray later (”You've already got seven, what's one more?”) and the total is eight. Maybe a dog would encourage a few more to move out, but they might not be the right ones. I do have several favorites in the pride.
If you're giving your friend a coupon, you might check to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you - the price difference between them and my regular vet was over $200. And how long their waiting list is. Don't bother asking if they have one!
Good idea! My regular vet will know, and I have to take the cat and the dog in for shots and a look-over in November.
Wandering at random, not really aiming for anywhere in particular.
Be back in a bit.
I’m not much good these days for staying with anything online. My attention span is about 1/4” long. *sigh*
It’s good to see you for more than a drive by, for what it’s worth....
Just wrote a short paragraph for a pic on Deviantart.
You ROCK!
Did I tell you my grandson is in Afghanistan? In the thick of the fighting.
Do you have any advice for how a G-Ma can get through this stuff?
Not really.
I never went to combat myself, so that’s an entirely different ballgame from what I know.
I only had to worry about Clinton era budget cuts increasing equipment breakages and equipment failure induced accidents.
That’s alot less worrisome than having someone in combat.
(Anyone who tells you otherwise isn’t being honest with you or themself.)
The quantifier stated, I’ll give it a shot:
He is serving in the greatest military this planet has ever seen, received the best training available, and is among fellow professionals.
He understands his oath of service, and the inherent risks involved.
His sense of duty is strong, to be overly fearful would be out of place.
Yes, worry about him as would be normal, but don’t let it overwhelm you.
He is a soldier, and that is a rare trait these days.
Be proud of him, pray for his safety, and trust that those around him will be there with him and for him when it hits the fan.
When I served, I wished that I had someone backing me up and telling me they were proud of me.
I didn’t have that.
I regret it, because I now feel cheated.
