(WARNING: Extreme hypocrisy alert! If what you read below revolts you, don't say you weren't warned in advance).
Did you know that there is a new religion out there? In addition to the Eastern Orthodox Catholics, Anglican Catholics, and Roman Catholics, there is now something called "Kennedy Catholics." At least according to the suddenly devout William Rivers Pitt in his DUmmie THREAD, "For any and all Kennedy Catholics on this page." Fasten your seatbelts because you will see the exact same folks who have no problem cursing out people who attend real (not Kennedy) Catholic churches suddenly become exceeding reverent, invoking beliefs that they do NOT have. Keep in mind that these are the same people who have no problem flashing their breasts and/or schlongs at churches on St. Patrick's Day or on Gay Day. And yet here they are and only because Ted Kennedy passes away, they suddenly "find" religion. The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning. So let us now watch Pied Piper Pitt and his fellow DUmmies reverently express precisely the beliefs they do NOT believe in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, who knows that the DUmmies will quickly revert to worshiping the goddess Gaia who resides in Uranus, is in the [brackets]:

only days ago did i realize that i, and my family, are "kennedy catholics"- reading JFK: Unspeakable realized that it had nothing to do with "the church" -- it was a civic religion for them, and I inherited that. "world peace" and all that. this is the first time i've seen the phrase used outside of my own musing.
[A touch of honesty from a DUmmie who admits that "kennedy catholics" have nothing to do with "the church" i.e. real catholics.]
Kennedy Catholics like us are the trojan horse for liberation theology.

I am an atheist but I find this kind of public trumpeting of what in this case should be a private offering of prayer nauseating.
My Catholic mom was really displeased with how easily Ted got such a big sendoff from the church. I was even more critical, and frankly if the local clergy had made a big stink about this baby killer getting the royal treatment (as opposed to any number of alternative mass options that wouldn't have put the church's imprimature on this disgraceful person), I might have some respect for them.
Agreed, unfortunately. Someone told me it wasn't the church's place to make a big stink--huh? It's not GOD'S (through his representatives on Earth) place to take a stand against a man who chaged his abortion position for political gain?
If Kennedy was the same in all ways except for his abortion position, the coverage of his death would have been very, very different, as would the DUmmie reaction.
I don't know anything about Eunice Kennedy Shriver's politics, but she was very strongly pro-life, and as the founder of Special Olympics (and her husband the first head of the Peace Corps), her passing didn't receive nearly the public honor she earned in life.

Most churches upon being informed that Ted Kennedy was going to be in their town Sunday and attending mass at their church would be shining the place up weeks in advance.
If your church would inform him that he wasn’t welcome and should stay away that is great, but not what I see happening.

Two years of Latin with the Jesuits in high school and as rusty as I am, I had to cringe at Papist Pitt’s pronouncements!
Mind you, as someone educated by the Jesuits for 8 years, I’m not too happy with how the chancellor of Boston College heaped tons of praise on Teddy.
