This morning on KXNT, Casey Hendrickson broke the news that the legislation that resulted in the federal agency travel ban to Las Vegas was supported by Harry Reid, and was not a Bush policy.
Hendrickson had Mayor Goodman on the show to explain what headway was made in handling the situation. Yesterday, Mayor Goodman was furious at the policy on KXNT with Alan Stock. He vowed to get to the bottom of it, and call back he did.
The Mayor said that Rahm Emanuel told him this all stems from a law that was passed years ago. That law is Public Law 109-162. In Section 1173 is what Emanuel told Mayor Goodman is the source of the problem.
As we all know, yesterday Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) claimed this travel ban was a Bush internal policy.
Hendrickson took it upon himself in real time to look up the legislation and the voting record for it. Since this is a federal law, and not a White House policy.
They juicy part came next. Hendrickson brought up the voting record for the bill, and joked that it would be funny if Reid voted for it. Turns our Harry Reid DID vote for it!

That should go over well with the voters.
Hey Harry, I bet the mob is real happy with you....if you disappear, where should we forward your mail???
This is amazing.
Someone in the government misintrepreted the law and it effect the City of Las Vegas .
And what will happen to our health care when run by these same kind of morons...how many provisions will be misinterpreted.
This should really help Reid’s poll numbers. NOT!
Lovely. Thanks Dingy Harry!
SEC. 1173. <> USE OF FEDERAL TRAINING FACILITIES.
(a) Federal Training Facilities.--Unless authorized in writing by the Attorney General, or the Assistant Attorney General for Administration, if so delegated by the Attorney General, the Department of Justice (and each entity within it) shall use for any predominantly internal training or conference meeting only a facility that does not require a payment to a private entity for use of the facility.
=============
Seems to me to be pretty narrowly scoped and only deals with DOJ.
Looks to me to be a pretty lame excuse my Emmanuhell.
If I remember correctly, Mayor Goodman was once a mob lawyer. If I were Harry, I’d be afraid, be very afraid.
The fate of little Tommy Daschle awaits dingy Harry.
Voting against a City in your own state. Way to go Senator Harry Reid - Liberal/Progressive. Wish all Lib/Progressive Senators would do the same in their legislative rush.
Further proof, as if we really needed proof, that Congress Critters never bother to read anything they vote on, and almost never know any facts about what they pontificate about.
The challenge I offer is to list which of the 535 buffoons deserve to keep their jobs. My list is pretty short.
the Dems seem to be shooting themselves in both feet, the chest, and the back of the head...
Sounds to me like that moron was Rahm Emanuel hisself.
With all of the hyperbole over corporate jets, jaunts into Manhattan, and the like, I would not be surprised to learn that it was an Obammer White House policy [not a Bush policy] to make it look like government was saving nickles by avoiding the slots.
I don't think that there would be a 'deliverable' location for poor Harry. However, I am sure that he will keep on voting for some time after that - loyal Democrats do that you know.
Vote for anyone BUTT Harry Reid
Why do they need to read the bill. He is there for life with great Health and retirement benefits unlike they ones he wants to give you and me.
Harry needs to put himself on the same program as the Average citizen of the US.
What are his poll numbers, btw, in Nevada?
No rational person could get from that wording to banning travel to Las Vegas, but that’s just what some Federal Bureaucrat(s) did. What this really illustrates is that we have way too many laws, and way too many people interpreting them.
