House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) slowed Democrats’ attempt to pass a sweeping climate-change legislation Friday evening, reading page-by-page through a 300-page Democratic amendment before allowing a roll call vote.

We need an old fashioned filibuster and the GOP can take turns reading the entire bill word for word.
Item by item, Boehner is hacking away at the previously missing 309 pages drafted at 3:09AM. Waxman’s whining didn’t stop him.

I’m listening too it right now. Commendable work for Boehner. He is exposing a level of incompetence never before seen in Congress.

They actually can’t take turns. Normally the Leaders of the two parties are given as much time as they need to sum up the position of their side of the debate. Normally they use 5 or 10 minutes. As Minority Leader John is using his Leader time to read the worst aspects of the bill. He has spoken for close to an hour; it is very frustrating to the opposition and we, the people are getting an earful of how tyrannical this bill will be.
The good thing is, not one rep will be able to say, “I had no idea what was in the bill!”
Well, they’ll say it, but it will be an obvious lie.

Pretty ironic if the ineptitude that is a 3 am amendment is the straw that breaks this bill’s back.
