Do you agree with Donald Trump's decision to allow Miss California, Carrie Prejean, to retain her title after she failed to reveal before last month's Miss USA pageant that she had posed in her underwear as a teenager. Yes or No (I think you vote by leaving a comment)

Perez Hilton’s chickens are coming home to roost

I am thankful that I do not yet know who Perez Hilton is, although I have heard that he stole Paris Hilton's name.

YES! YES! YES! Go Carrie go and keep standing up for what yo believe. We don’t want homosexuality exposed to our nation’s children.

Keep standing up to the liberal biased news media because we are standing with you!

One of the contest judges, a homosexual who goes by the name “Perez Hilton” asked Miss Prejean whether she supported same sex “marriage”, to which she answered in the negative. This Hilton character gave her a zero and later indicated that her answer cost her the title of Miss USA. That is discrimination and sexual harrassment in my book.

They ASKED HER A QUESTION, she's compelled to answer it.

I guess I haven't been following popular culture enough. Your post caused me to go back and review what actually happened which apparently I was somewhat vague about.

I'll grant that Miss Prejean is to be admired for giving an honest answer with excellent "poise" to a loaded question that probably should not have even been asked, just as there probably should not be a gay male judge in a female beauty contest.

My overall impression of Miss Prejean began before the contest when someone on FR posted pictures of the contestants and she struck me as being rather obviously fake in some respects. There's nothing wrong with her answer in the contest but the offstage grandstanding about it is where she used up her 15 minutes. If Prejean was speaking out about some other issue such global warming I would feel the same way.

As for gay marriage, I'm kind of agnostic about it. I'd prefer they didn't call it that, but there appear to be some gay couples that have been together a very long time.

Maybe the Mod. can add that to the original?

I don’t see where the state has any right to meddle in private affairs of the family or individual, such as marriage, inheritance, children, etc. IIRC, California already has civil unions, which confer the same legal rights as marriage, but the homosexual agenda is to force their “lifestyle” up into everyone’s face, when it should be a private matter between consenting adults. That’s what “Perez Hilton” was all about, not civil rights.

It was about her not being willing to LIE, in order to win the crown.

She DID lie. She lied to the Miss California pageant officials when she signed a contract stating that she had NO compromising pictures in her past. (Or whatever it is they have to sign.) For THAT reason, she should have lost her crown.

Now, by Trump letting her slide, ANY woman in the future who has the same thing happen (and you know these things happen every few years), he will have to let her slide. In fact, they may as well revise the contract, taking that part out, because a precedent has been set, in two ways. 1) You can lie on the contract and not lose your crown. 2) You can have compromising pictures, and not lose your crown.

So, essentially, this girl has been rewarded for both lying and posing semi-nude. The only good thing she did was to stand up for traditional marriage. Not a good enough reason to retain the crown, in my opinion.

She didn't LIE. She was a model and modeled underwear. She didn't show her breasts and nipples. So, she wasn't 'compromised'.

Actually, she WAS exposed. That's why they show pictures of her on TV with the infamous BLACK BAR OF SHAME across her naked parts. If she wasn't showing anything, the black bar wouldn't be there.

You can justify this any way you want. Just because she gave a good answer in defense of traditional marriage, you're willing to overlook the fact that she posed semi-nude AND that she lied on her contract.

Did you watch what she said about those photos last night. Those are the recent ones that she said are photo shopped.

I heard something about a "wardrobe malfunction". The wind was blowing... Those pictures weren't supposed to be seen... She was just adjusting herself... Yet, what self-respecting "Christian" girl would be posing semi-nude, wind or no wind?

But that's not the point. She lied on her contract, and she posed semi-nude, and now she's being rewarded.

I wonder, will I be rewarded on my taxes if I lie? Not that I would. I'm just saying. When I sign on the dotted line, I have sworn under penalty of perjury that my taxes are accurate, to the best of my knowledge. All Trump has done is to play fast and loose with the rules. It's amazing how many people are willing to give her a pass, just because she answered one question to their satisfaction. Contracts be damned.

If the Pastor and church of that ‘Christian girl’ don’t have a problem with it, I think that speaks for itself.

What, her lying in the contract or her racy photos?

Her pastor doesn't have a problem with her racy photos? OR with her lying?

I don't think that speaks for itself. It speaks to the moral laxity in this country, even from our so-called religious leaders.

What ever happened to paying the penalty when you do something wrong? Instead of being rewarded for it.

She did two things wrong. She took the racy photos (not allowed according to the pageant rules - at least, until today). She then lied about it in a contract.

Why I'm arguing about this on a Conservative forum is anybody's guess. It seems so self-evident. I guess because the girl gave a good answer, that completely exonerates her legal obligations.

I'm sure Hilton lobbied hard to get the chance, but someone had to arrange it.

Perhaps the woman who resigned from the Miss CA directorship or whatever today had something to do with it? Maybe Trump figured it out and told her to get out.

I don't think the woman who quit(got fired)had much to do with running or organizing any part of the Miss USA Pageant. It was probably one of the pageant gays that the show can't run without. Regardless, someone behind the scenes made a decision to take her out.
