I have been reading some discussion regarding guns and ammunition recently and as a lady have always had trouble with a shotgun or rifle due to the length of the barrel. I can use it, but sometimes uncomfortable or not able to aim quickly due to the weight or size.
I went to Walmart today and there is a nice rifle there made by Rossi that is $147. It has an interchangable barrel between a .22 or a .410. So if they are out of one type of ammo, you can go with the other if necessary.
Also, the barrel is short and the gun itself is very lightweight.
So I thought I'd share.
I'd recommend a NRA safety course if you have not had one and were not raised around firearms.
I'll also invite you over to www.gunsnet.net where I’m one of the moderators. Do be warned there is lots of testosterone over there, but we're mostly harmless...
I bought the wife a CZ82... I’ve been thinking of buying one or two more. Nice sidearm...
If you’re ever in London, I encourage you to stop by the Purdy, Holland & Holand and Boss shops. Some of the most beautiful engraving work anywhere. These guns are truly heirloom firearms to be passed from generation to generation.
Once the staff at James Purdy found out I hunted grouse, they showed me some of the finest guns that I’ll ever put my sweaty mitts on (we were debating side-by-side vs. over/under). It probably didn’t hurt that I was wearing a blazer and khakis.
Oooooh. Pretty.
Yep! got my Son’s at Bass pro. He was 8
It is a 9x18 Makarov not as strong as a .45 but
with 10+ rounds you can shoot them more than once.
I have carried a .45 SA Champion for ten years and
more than once have decided it was “too heavy to carry”.
A bad idea when your life may depend on it.
The CZ is smaller, lighter, double/single action, much, much easier to field strip and clean. One simply unloads it, drops the mag, then pulls forward and down on the trigger
guard, and pulls the slide back and up, done.
I look forward to toting it.
Cz 82 are surplus pistol that only available in 9x18mm Makarov. Cz 83 is a same pistol that’s available in .32acp, .380 acp, and 9x18 Mak. The price for the Cz 82 is around $160 to $210 online.
I just minutes ago I got back from my rural property,
and checked out my new S&W 9mm Sigma for the first time.
Trigger pull was harder than other 9’s I’ve used,
but still acceptable.
Will definately get out to the range now that it’s warmer.
I paid $349.00 for it and would recommend it if you can’t get a Glock or Sig.
My brother bought a Walther PPS last week and I look forward to checking that out.
I felt the same way at Watervliet Arsenal...brought a tear to my eyes, it did ;-)
Yugo M76 in 8mm
Hugarian AMP69 (Semi Build) in 7.62x39
Saiga 12
Romanian PSL in 7.62x54R
I got a PSL 54c, it’s fun to shoot with. It doesn’t have as strong a recoil like my Mosin 91/30.
Mine is a 12ga/.308 combo (actually several stashed in various places). Came with a nice dark blue case for breakdown carry. Looks like tennis racket case. A fine bargain for a simple first time rifle/shotgun and and even better survival solution or truck gun in any combination of gas/calibers. Because the scope mounts to the barrel receiver it remains zeroed in after take-down. One of mine has a scope several times the cost of the rifle combo.
I can’t believe it, but I think I am slobbering over that Romanian sweetie you got there.
Gunporn indeed.
Yes, that looks like it!
Except it looks like the barrel is pretty long, which has been my problem all along.
If they make one in the youth size for that caliber, I will DEFINITELY look into getting one.
Welcome to the club....
Congratulations, now DHS will think you are a “right-wing extremist”..
good luck finding .357 mag ammo though.
I have had to stop firing my KGP-141 because I can’t replace what I feed it.
It’s a shame to, it is a sweet piece to shoot.
You need to have someone cut the stock on the 20 gauge down for you. If you put the butt of the stock in the crook of your arm, your index finger should touch the trigger at about the middle of the second joint. There is nothing harder to shoot than a gun that does not fit. I like my shotguns a little short so they come up with no drag on my jackets. A steel butt plate or hard rubber pad (or plastic) is better than a rubber kickpad which can catch on your clothes. The best place to practice is a day on the skeet range.

I was wearing a basic button-down shirt and slacks, and the doorman at H&H looked at me like I was homeless. Maybe if I get to go there again before it goes entirely Islamic...
