Iowa DNR refusing to allow real "Tea Party"

Iowa DNR refusing to allow real "Tea Party." Our founding fathers would have been outraged. Imagine if they had gone to Boston Harbor to dump tea in protest only to be thwarted by environmentalists who think tea would pollute the harbor? This is exactly what is happening in Grand Rapids Iowa. A group of citizens want to have a "Tea Party" tax protest. However, State officials will not allow them to dump real tea into the Cedar River. The Cedar Rapids group will only be allowed to dump dechlorinated tap water or river water from buckets labeled “tea.” If this had happened to our founding fathers, I suspect the Revolutionary War may have started a little earlier.

Yeah, can you imagine the founders trying to get a permit for their Tea Party? Sheesh, this isn’t inspiring much confidence in me.

Iowa ... a good place to be from ... far away from that is. I will never go back to the land of the largest FDA welfare state. Yhere was never a bloated farm pork bill that the commie Harkin and the RINO Grassley didn’t love.

To H. E. double hockey sticks with the Richard Craniums of DNR ... By constitutional law they have no authority. Turn the Mississippi into the dutchman’s brew ...tea

If tea is so dangerous, why does our All Caring Lord Obama allow us to drink it?

Government owns these waters... and they have power and authority to permit dumping of anything into the waters. Call it cost of doing business.

Somebody should inform the DNR that tea is made of roasted leaves. Does the DNR forbid trees from dropping leaves into the water in the Fall? (The real reason the DNR is doing this is to toady up to Obama).

I would recommend you find out what penalties they can assess before I would dump anything in 'their' waters. They hold their positions as high priests and they can and do come down hard upon 'dumpers' most especially if the business is known to be a Republican contributor.

Let me be clear here, I do not advocate using our water ways as public sewers, however, do not think for one minute that politics does not enter into how violators are punished.

No kidding.

If I were a lefty running a press outlet, I’d make this the top story, painting the right’s “Tea Party” as impotent and laughable.

The anger is not there yet, folks. And until such time as it IS there, we ARE impotent to do much more than complain and stir up others to do the same.

The Left currently in power are no fools. They’re shrewd and clever; and for the moment, they’re playing a very solid game. That’s okay, though, because they’re also overplaying it. Their overreach is becoming more apparent - and to more people - every day.

Let the steam build, all the while staving off the apathy and stoking the discontent Samuel-Adams-style. And when the moment comes, we’ll seize it.

This whole article is hilarious.

Tea, although natural and quite tasty, is considered a pollutant that can’t go into a body of water without a permit, said Mike Wade, a senior environmental specialist at the DNR’s Manchester field office. “Discoloration is considered a violation,” Wade said.

LOLOLOL. The group in Grand Rapids is protesting a 1-cent local option sales tax to go before voters Tuesday. Most of the money (17-18 million forecast) is to go for housing assistance and buyouts of homes that were destroyed BY THE RIVER!?!? in the June 2008 flood.

If the group uses tap water, they have to leave it exposed to the air "long enough" for the chlorine to evaporate.

Morons.
