Will Obama Countenance a Second Civil War?
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 1/20/09 | Purple Mountains

In my opinion, the cultural war between secular-progressives and traditional Americans will become a violent, bloody war if the Democrats in Congress try to criminalize policy differences by trying to punish members of the Bush Administration for attempting (and succeeding) to protect American lives. Obama isn’t saying much, although he appointed Holder, but Pelosi, Conyers, Reid, Holder and others are mouthing some very dangerous thoughts. As a minimum, practices that were originated by Carter and Clinton and merely continued by the Bush Administration (such as rendition and warrantless wiretapping) will be given much publicity, and, beyond that, some of us will be forced to support some violent people we normally shun and despise.

“My state of Michigan has 83 counties but only a handful of those make us blue.”

I might suggest that those counties are actually “black and blue”...just a thought, but probably accurate.

There has NEVER been a civil war in this country.

If people get away from the tripe that the north recorded about their victory back during the 1860's one comes to the logical conclusion that the conflict should be rightfully titled The War of Northern Aggression.

“Common”-unism sure seems to permeated The Chosen One’s thoughts.

There eventually could be violence if an amnesty is passed.

Could be?

There are already tens of thousands of Americans that have become victims of robbery, murder, burglary, rape, fraud etc, directly due to the government sponsored violent invasion of this country.

All the violence perpetrated so far has been from one side.

Fact is, there is not one single American in this country that has not been negatively affected or impacted by this invasion.

The point is conservatives talking about a 2nd CW looks to the vast majority of America as lunatic fringe!

Google for photos from any previous Code Pink rally and then will you still think conservatives talking CW-II is lunatic? I think many here are simply past the point of caring how we're perceived. It's simply not valued by many anymore...perception that is. I think it's a tactical blunder personally, because if it can be alluded to while taking other action unknown to an adversary it can be VERY valuable! But people are frustrated and at wits end.

This nation has been straining for civil war since the 1960s. The south never really got over the atrocities from the first, although forgiveness has been granted for the most part. But that has nothing to do with the future. The past and the reasons behind the first civil war were quite different than why we would have a second.

While I will agree that most talk of CW-II is unfounded and comprised mostly of people blowing off steam, the future situation is volatile at best. I'm not getting good vibes from it in the circles I overlap with. People should watch closely as things digress and prepare accordingly because the situation can and has been changing quickly.

Particularly watch the financial situation and notice that it's not at bottom yet, nor can anybody tell us when it will hit bottom. In spite of this, the experts tell us we're not headed for a depression?! If we're not headed for a depression, then WHAT are we headed for? Is there a different word for it?

Whatever starts another conflict here on American soil will be caused by a power grab, possibly in the wake or midst of the financial crisis. That is what will initiate it. Past that, I have no idea. The financial crisis and the holding of power are intertwined tightly.

Either request separation based on conscientious objector status, or complete the second part of my oath and leave service at the end of EOAS.

Well, that explains a lot, thanks.

It's already hit the fan. The blades need to spin just a little fast though. :-)

There are many ways to rebel. Personally, I am cutting out any dealings at all with Obama supporters. I won't knowingly spend a cent at their establishments. I've already talked to some who are going to severely limit taxes paid. They figure if all these big name dims ( Treasury Sec nominee, Rangel etc) pay only when caught, they will do the same. Just as a side note, I stopped in to check the supplies of gold, silver and ammo at a few shops yesterday ........ there aren't any. You can place prepaid orders for 3 week delivery with a high premium. This is a worrisome state of affairs.

Exactly- it's well-established that "they" can take our money, via taxes, at the point of a gun.

But they can't make us produce, or consume, beyond subsistence levels. At least, not yet...

We're pulling in our horns, and making do with a little as possible. "For the duration."

Regarding the second bolded? Yeah, it's worrisome.

So am I correct in sensing snark? Do you not agree with my solutions options?

What would you do? Shoot your CO?

No.

Iirc, if an order is unlawful, you are duty bound to not follow it.

Let me boil it down.

If the POTUS were to issue an unlawful order, and your chain of command were to comply, would you, having taken an oath to uphold the Constitution execute that order?

Chances are that the unlawful order would be refused higher up the chain of command, but let's say it came down to you.

Which would you choose, the rule of law, or the rule of men?

You might as well get ready because they are going to do it somewhere down the line. May not be today, may not be tomorrow but it will happen. In fact it has already happened.

The difference is the Jews were a minuscule minority. What, single digit %?

Percentages mean nothing. Here raw numbers, over 6 million, means everything.

Let's take the Jews and other proclaimed undesirables out of the picture for a moment.

What happened to those in Germany who didn't want the Nazis around? What happened when the Nazis won? Where did the opposition party go? What happened to them? Same as in the Soviet Union, in China, in North Korea, and Africa today. The opposition was sent to forced labor camps, or killed, if they weren't lucky enough to escape.

I generally agree, but that assumes that the Republicans are smart enough to use this as an issue. That’s a really big assumption.

Let's see where this goes. They get one of their idiot "turn 'em in" hoplophobic pieces of detritus enacted into "law", then things could get interesting.

Blatantly spitting in the face of the Constitution and the recent Heller decision will not be countenanced. We're getting enough Federal over-reach the way it is...

If people would look at things for themselves instead of relying on government school propaganda - oops - I mean "history" text books they might learn quite a lot they thought to be true isn't.

The first thing one learns when they begin to study history in any depth is that in war the victor gets to write the official record and many times that record bears little relation to the actual facts as they occurred.

The war of Northern Aggression works as well as anything for that one.

Aye.

I've been having a recurring dream where the local cops come for my guns (Witch I broke up and forged into plowshares) and within seconds they are dead, and so am I.

So it goes.

Add the 1.4 percent differential to the column of those who didn’t vote for Obama and you get 52.9 to 47.1 percent...only 5.8 per cent. Then there were millions who didn’t vote who could have. The difference is about 7 million folks out of nearly 120 million votes cast. Not a huge difference interms of numbers of votes cast or the total population at large(about 4.3 percent...figure 99
percent of homosexuals and trans-”type” folks are in that figure).
