An unscientific poll being conducted by America Online reveals more and more people are having second thoughts about Barack Obama's eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.
Those who raised questions about his vague history before the election largely drew scorn from the mainstream media, which cited an online image from Obama's campaign that purportedly proved his U.S. citizenship with a Hawaiian "Certification of Live Birth."
But the latest results from the America Online poll reveal that nationwide only 41 percent of the participants now believe there is no issue to be investigated.
Fifty-three percent nationwide, and majorities in 45 states individually, say "yes" when asked if there is "any merit" to the controversy surrounding his citizenship. Even in Obama's own state, Illinois, the opinion is split 47-47 percent on the issue.
WND has reported on nearly 20 lawsuits that have been filed in various courts around the nation, including several that have reached the U.S. Supreme Court.
They all in various ways allege Obama does not meet the "natural born citizen" clause of the U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, which reads, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

The fact is that Obama has very, very little experience on Capital Hill. He is successful running for elections, but what else is there?
I firmly believe that when Obama is required to display his original birth certificate, that it will prove that he is ineligible to serve as President.

If he is an illegal then why doesn’t immigration deport him like they did his Auntie? Even if he isn’t he would still have to show immigration proof!

I do find post #56 to be more descriptive of what I feel than the BOHICA attitude of just “hitting bottom”. In my program, we do not have to accept unacceptable behavior. We can get off the downward elevator at any point. Allowing this illegal travesty and trying to get others to BOHICA over it is just enabling the behavior on the part of guvmint. Are we powerless over the guvmint?
Well said. On the emotional level, I find myself grieving for what was once a constitutional republic.

Most of the thrust of the message is that we are utterly powerless over everything, and of course our Higher Power is the One who has all power...that’s all well and good, however the kind of activism we engage in here on FR is pretty much frowned upon, didn’t you notice? Socialism and tolerance of anything and everything is the zeitgeist of the movement...I’m so conflicted by it all, the contrast of Ayn Rand and Bill Wilson, that I’ve mainly been doing it on my own the last few years, and don’t go to meetings much anymore except as a safe harbor from the raging seas of life...but as we all know, a ship was not meant nor even made just to sit in the harbor, as Sarah Palin pointed out.
Individualism is utterly squashed in AA, however independent thought and creativity are the hallmarks of free-market capitalism that is so vilified in the rooms. Though many AA’s don’t realize it (many are unfamiliar with literature other than the program’s and related works), they are engaged in anti-capitalist socialism—any ideas that go counter to, or even in the least depart from, the program dogma are poo-poohed, laughed at, scorned, shouted down, etc...the groupthink is complete. I beleive that mostly it is the terror of the idea of relapse that keeps so many as slaves to the ego of Bill Wilson...

***That echoes my experience (but not my strength nor hope). I got so tired of the badmouthing of Christ that I found it necessary to limit my exposure to the program and made up for it by church involvement. I’ve had growth on the spiritual side but what I miss is that “identification” one gets with others in a meeting. There is a recovery movement at my church, which seems to track a proposal I made at my previous church 20 years ago. So there is progress, not perfection.

The SCOTUS has already approved the illegitimate presidency to continue, in spite of the Constitution, so it makes sense that millions of others will believe it’s OK, too.
No they haven’t—SCOTUS has yet to rule on multiple cases. They’ve only denied immediate stays.
