Do Unto Obama As Liberals Did Unto Bush
American Sentinel ^ | November 6, 2008 | Michael Eden

Posted on 11/06/2008 5:17:57 PM PST by Michael Eden

I wrote an article that pretty much summed up my feelings with the Obama-Democrat victory on Tuesday: Obama Wins! God Damn America! Two comments represent two very different points of view:

You people are rediculous [sic]. Take a minute and think about what you’re saying. You cannot continue to spew lies and deciet [sic] and expect us to come together peacfully [sic] as a country.
And:
Let’s give Obama the same chance his followers gave Bush in 2000. None.
I have to laugh at the first comment. Did liberal individual expressing this opinion feel a similar righteous indignation for the over-the-top visceral hatred for President Bush that just seemed to go on and on and on? I very much doubt it. He may well be one of the many liberals with "Bush lied, people died" bumper stickers on his car.

He might be one of the "Hamas Liberals" like this:

I Hate Bush! FOUND by Fred Ames in Raleigh, North Carolina I found this by a middle school / high school bus stop while walking my dog. I know - EVERYONE hates that a*****e Bush - but I haven't seen it expressed quite so well by a kid before!
All I can say is, "That poor dog."

I say "Hamas Liberals" because you clearly have a school indoctrination system pumping out the same hatred for Bush that Palestinian schools are teaching their little darlings to have for Jews. But that stuff was fine.

When I was a middle schooler, I wasn't doodling about my hatred for President Carter, even though the man was running the country right into the ground on every front imaginable. There has been an unhinged - and frankly demonic - hatred for President Bush that has been like nothing I have ever seen.

As a Wall Street Journal article put it, "The treatment of Bush has been a disgrace

."

Bush hatred didn't take very long to manifest itself. People went nuts screaming that Bush stole the election in an assult against democracy. It didn't matter that the Palm Beach, Florida debacle occurred in a Democratic County under Democratic leadership, or that the same flawed ballot design had cost Republican Bob Dole 14,000 votes only four years earlier. No, it was because Bush was the devil. The outgoing Clinton administration trashed the White House to set the official Democratic tone regarding the incoming Bush administration.

Now, I'm not saying that Republican parents should indoctrinate their children at home to despise and hate Barack Obama (presumably, the public schools will continue to teach children to hate Republicans). Nor am I suggesting that the Bush administration demonstrate its loathing of the incoming Obama adminstration like the Clinton adminstration did.

But I AM saying that Republicans should realize that Democrats have set the bar for political discourse, and we would have to be world class limbo dancers in order to set the bar any lower than Democrats did in demonizing President Bush.

Democrats have been utterly vicious rabid political monsters for years. They destroyed Robert Bork in a campaign of unwarranted personal demonization to begin the war of the politics of personal destruction. And when Clarence Thomas's appointment came up, they said, "We're going to bork him. We're going to kill him politically. . . . This little creep, where did he come from?" The Republican response to this shocking viciousness on the part of Democrats and liberals was to confirm the incredibly liberal (the General Counsel of the ACLU!) Clinton appointee Ruth Bader Ginsburg, citing that, whatever her perspective, she was qualified. Trusting a Democrat to return professional courtesy is like trusting a frothing-at-the-mouth rabid dog not to bite you. It just won't happen. Quit hoping it will, and get with the program.

Barack Hussein Obama and his Democratic lackeys get to wear the bullseyes on their foreheads for the duration of the next election cycle. It is ALL on them now, and every single failure - and every single event that can be spun into the appearance of a failure - are ALL on them now. Does Obama lead us into a war for ANY reason? He's a murdering warmonger. Doctor pictures of him with the blood of his victims and fangs like the ugly and evil monster he is! Does Obama NOT lead us into war for any reason? He's an appeasing weakling who doesn't have the will to protect us from tyrants. Will we see any kind of terrible national disaster? Then it's "Obama drinks blood from human skulls!" Does the economy do anything other than spiral ever upward and upward? It's a "failed Obama presidency" and "failed Democratic policies." And - given the fact that yesterday marked the "biggest loss ever on the day after a presidential election," well, Obama is already "a failed President" faster than anyone's ever been a failed President.

Don't let a bunch of appallingly blatant hypocrites try to tell you that you owe Obama one more iota of respect than they gave to Bush. After what they've done, they don't deserve to talk about graciousness, respect, what's best for the country, or any of their other smarmy self-serving rhetoric.

It's time to start burning down their houses and salting their fields. The Democrats have demonstrated the pathway to political success the past six years; let us follow the ashes to learn the example of the trail the Democrats blazed.

Couldn’t agree more.

“Mr. Obama” it is... I have listened since 2001 to the electronic and print media refer to the current President of the United States - George Bush simply as “Mr. Bush” since they seem to take their lead from the NY Times editorial style section.

Many of Obama’s black supporters will consider it demeaning or racist to deny their the future president the respect and title of his office, but they must accept that what has been done to “President Bush” for the past eight years will now be done to “Mr. Obama”.

You reap what you sow.

I understand and agree with your sentiments re: being a Christian and being Christlike.

I can see now why Jesus avoided politics.

Remember that Jesus didn’t just turn the other cheek; He also drove the money-changers out of the Temple with a whip.

There are limits that we need to respect; but - for the sake of all the babies that will die if this guy gets to start naming Supreme Court Justices with a liberal Congress - we need to drive Obama out of the White House.

And I DON’T mean this to apply to Obama as a black man (rather as a dangerous radical), but we need to whip his butt out of the White House.

In the spirit of this article, I am collecting slogans and images to use in the coming months as things tank (there was one on another thread that said "OH NO" that's already saved). I've seen endless small, personal media expressing disgust for W (mostly on foreign made cars, too) and I will do the same for Zero once the danger of having my windshield broken passes. The difference is, I don't think we have to resort to "hate" and profanity. Things like "Zero rhymes with Nero" will do the job. Except that Americans probably don't know who Nero was.

The other entity that needs to be taken down is the MSM. "Dinosaur Media Death Watch" and "unplug perky Katie" "Tom, Retire. Again" "pMSNBC" and others should be staples.

While I admit this is a monument in our history--the first black president--that is the one spark of this election, and its power is already dimmed, to me.

NRO linked to a "from 52 to 48" photo spread of libs sending "we're all in this together" messages, and all I could think of was the WAVE of "Not My President" crap from the moment Bush was declared the winner.

And NOW the libs want to get along?

Chrissy Matthews says "America needs a successful president"--gee, Chrissy, didn't we need one after 9/11 and when we were fighting two wars, you bastard?

I wish I could be magnanimous. But for all his flaws, President Bush held this country together through some of our toughest times with NO HELP--NONE--from the liberals. He worked with that drunken murderer Ted Kennedy on No Child Left Behind and got NOTHING in return. He offered to change the tone in Washington and got NOTHING in return. After 9/11, the liberals had more open hatred for Bush than they did for the terrorists. I'm not saying they wanted 9/11 to happen--I'm saying their personal hatred was for Bush--who, guess what Obamaniacs, is our president.

But now that YOUR guy is in, I'M supposed to be magnanimous as you never were?

Sorry, I don't support socialists. They've piled up too many corpses for me to grin and say "Hey, whatever our differences, we're ALL Americans!"

Except you guys never waved the flag until YOUR guy got in.

And now I'm supposed to join in--as if *I* did something wrong and YOU'VE forgiven me--when YOU'VE been the ones who didn't give a damn about "one nation" or "unity"?

Screw that.

Great article--read the comments for follow-up and links on Katrina, WMD, etc.

It's been amazing how the libs are walking forward, hands out, saying, "OK, we can be friends now!" when they've been living on their own bile for 8 years.

Their child-like confusion when someone like me says "You're kidding, right?" would be funny if it wasn't part of the naive worldview that elected Obama.

Good comeback. I like your style.

I never imagined that anyone could be as full of bullpoop as these people are every day of their lives. It might be because they actually think the self-referentially absurd propaganda campaign the media feeds them is true. It might be because they don’t even believe anything called “truth” exists, much less care about pursuing it.

We’ve got half the country falling for a crazier and crazier worldview. And they are capable of damn near any psychotic stupidity.

What always amazes me is how they go off on me in the blogs - while at the same time presenting themselves off as “tolerant” - as though they are completely unaware of the massive contradiction that characterizes their lives and everything they stand for.

On another thread I directed people to read your comments where you provided links to material. Sometimes it feels so pointless, because the lefties follow the Alan Colmes pattern. If I say "Liberal Politician A did this," the lib says "Oh, yeah? Well Conservative Politician B did THIS, so whaddaya say to THAT, huh, HUH?"

They can't answer, so they deflect. If the issue is that libs do something and conservatives don't, that's an OK response. But we fall into the trap of letting that tactic hamstring us; we don't ask certain questions because it would embarass "our guy," so their guy gets away with murder.

An honest response would be for a lib to respond to the substance of the charge, instead of saying, basically, "If the charge is accurate, it is still OK because one of you guys is guilty, too."

Obama's gotten away with so much of this because of that silly dance. We need to stick to facts, to reality, and libs I encounter (I work in Cambridge, MA, the Moonbat Mecca) simply don't care about that. Obama is, in his words, a blank screen on which they can project--facts don't matter, because each of his fans has a completely different movie playing, so there's no consistency. He is a fantasy construct, so his fans can't be bothered with things like having no resume--what difference does THAT make to someone you mostly imagine?

What it comes down to is that libs believe they are GOOD, and thus, any who oppose them are BAD. And so they have permission to lie and distort and especially good, to HATE those who oppose them. I mean, if you were going up against, oh, Hitler, you could lie and distort and hate him, too, right?

A vote for Obama HAS to be seen as a triumph against racism, because otherwise they couldn't fantasize that they're taking part in history--they're one with Rosa Parks, because they voted for a guy because of his race, and he triumphed. If they only voted for him because they were worried about the economy, well, that's not "heroic" is it?

They go off on the blogs against you because you oppose them, and thus you MUST be bad...and there's no brakes on what you can do to someone who's BAD.

It may no longer be so easy for the L/MSM to keep things under wrap. His false promises may be his downfall, where a lot of dopes that voted for change will see no change. And they will feel let down. Of course he will come back and say my emphasis was on the concept of change, not in actually changing things. So it may sooth their anger. After all a majority who voted for him are most probably in the reality, idiots.

I have always stated what I believed to be true. I have never knowingly lied in any article I’ve written. And I have also done the best I could to check my facts if there seemed to be any reason to doubt sources.

I have a definite perspective, and make no attempt to disguise it: I am a conservative.

BECAUSE I try to tell the truth, and BECAUSE I try to check facts rather than just run my mouth with a bunch of vicious rumors, there are limits beyond which I won’t go.

Frankly, the fact that I even CARE about “the truth,” or for that matter even believe that something called “truth” objectively exists at all, sets me apart from may liberals.

It’s for that reason that liberals can go so damn low: such as run stories that Sarah Palin pretended to be pregnant because she was covering for the fact that Todd Palin had impregnated his daughter Bristol.

What I have found is that many liberals have an ideological filter that prevents them from thinking about anything that challenges their worldview. The more bogus, fraudulent, and flawed a worldview is, the less you can seriously consider anything that undermines it.

So you’ll get the immediate fingerpointing at what some conservative may have done that allegedly is similar, or a patent dismissal of a point you make without any attempt made to refute it (prove it’s false), etc. That’s why I rarely bother to argue with libs past a certain point: once I see that sort of mindset, I just move on. No point arguing with a deluded fool who has no interest in trying to get to the truth.

Well put.

This was the first time I read one of your articles, but I will be on the lookout for you. If you have a ping! list, please put me on it.

Demonization of the opponent is the easiest way not to have to listen to what they say.

We can’t beat those people with rational discourse. We have to work on the people who still will listen.

We’ll choose our battles, but we’ll fight fair.

All's fair in love and war. And this is war. We're not buying that "nicy nice we're better than them" jazz as you can tell by the level of anger at a fraudulent election. We do not accept that the election was conducted fairly. In fact we should be demanding investigations and recounts.

Nice people finish last - in political fights like this one.

We're going for the jugular.
