California: Failed Liberal Experiment
Nietzsche is Dead ^ | 4 aug 08 | foutsc

Breitbart reports that graffiti artists in LA are are increasingly gang-affiliated and are turning violent. Attacks and murders of citizens who catch them in the act are on the rise. Here's the money quote from a fed-up resident that sums up the situation nicely:

"We live in the same community. We are all in this hellhole together."
California is Liberalism's petri dish, and the experiment is turning putrid. Liberal politicians (yes, including Arnold) have brought the state to financial meltdown. Criminal gangs run rampant, energy is in short supply thanks to the environmental lobby, and businesses are being chased out by stifling regulation and job-killing taxation. The state's economy would collapse without illegal immigrant workers, who are changing the face of the state. Here's an excerpt from the Wall Street Journal:

First, the AAA auto club declared it will close its call centers in California, meaning that 900 jobs will move to other states. "It costs more to do business in California," said a AAA press release, in the understatement of the year.

Then last week Toyota announced it is canceling plans to build its new Prius hybrid at its plant in the San Francisco Bay area because of the high tax and regulatory costs. Adding to the humiliation is that Toyota will now take this investment and about 1,000 jobs to a more progressive and pro-business state: Mississippi.

There is already a reverse gold rush going on in California and the evidence points powerfully toward high tax rates as a culprit. Census Bureau data show that, from 1996-2005, 1.3 million more Americans left than came to California. And the people who are leaving are disproportionately those with higher incomes: the very targets the Democrats want to tax more.

California is a state with a vibrant population, verdant farmland, great universities and a rich abundance of natural resources. All it needs now is a functioning government that believes in free market capitalism and knows how to exploit it to the state's advantage.

Right-wing redneck states like Tennessee and Mississippi, full of gun-clingers and bible thumpers have figured it out and are welcoming California refugee businesses. Result? These Southern states are enjoying a continued economic boom, while the progressive Golden State is going bust.

Why isn't the GOP pointing to this failed state every day as a prime example of liberalism's failures? Why aren't conservative advocates contrasting California's failures with the successes of Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi?

All they need do is point to the Golden State and ask Americans:

Got Liberal Hellhole? Vote Democratic

And my family was 4 of that number. We fled in 1997. Never looked back.

MA is also losing population. People flee Liberalism, it’s just that simple.

In report: “The state's economy would collapse without illegal immigrant workers, who are changing the face of the state.”

That might appear to be the case, but Balkanization will not be good for California's economy. In the long run, it will be Kosovo unless illegal border crossings are curbed severely. Gang violence, tit-for-tat racial discord— will cause entire neighborhoods to transform. Then it will be entire counties. It is very difficult for an area to remain united with more than one dominant language.

I begin to wonder about these “liberal hell-hole collapsing stories.” Since the 1970s!!!!!!!!!!! I have been eagerly awaiting the utter collapse of New York (city and state) MA, CA, NJ, DC, etc. The number of times I’ve read “the city stands on the brink of complete, total, and utter collapse. Bankrupt since March, and with no functioning g. since Dec, few see any hope for the beleagured city.” And yet, they chug ever onward, handing out ever larger sums of cash to ever more degenerate welfare begging bums. What gives?

The problem is that many of those fleeing CA and MA are infecting nearby states bringing their liberalism with them.

California is a sunny land where the livin' is easy and abundance flows, seemingly endlessly, from natures loving cornu copia.

It's easy to be lulled into illusions there, especially the illusion that so copious a bounty is inextinguishably self-generating and will always be there. Millions have been.

Like irresponsible, pleasure loving children of wealthy parents, unable to understand the source of their good fortune or to imagine that it could be taken away, California Leftists rebel against the very virtues that created the bounty they take for granted and even hold them in contempt.

They are deluded.

Reality can be evaded, but its consequences cannot.

Sooner or later, reality comes crashing through even the most convincing delusions. In fact, the more convincing the delusions, the more terrible the tragedy when reality shatters them.

It's fun to be irresponsible. It's also dangerous.

California is whooping it up in an endless party. It's going to be a bitter shock when the endless party comes to an end.

Wilson left them with a surplus which enabled them to get where they are now.

Californians are counting on the rest of the U.S.A. to bail them out when they bankrupt California. As a matter of fact, the fall of California could bring the rest of the nation to its knees.

If the American people were foolish enough to empower the Left sufficiently, America would sink into a Third World Hellhole indistinguishable from Zimbabwe, ruled by a brutal, self-serving President-for-Life indistinguishable from Robert Mugabe.

The Left is drunk on pleasure and adolescent irresponsibility.

Let's hope and pray that the rest of the nation is wise enough to put a stop to the Left and its insanity--wise enough to ignore the Pro-Leftist Propaganda Machine, vis. the "Mainstream Newsmedia"--and to kick the Leftist Political Machine, viz. the Democrat Party, out of office and out of power.

Okay, all you visionaries, where do we go; what do we do, when California, Massachusetts, and the rest of the centers of psychosis succeed in destroying the U.S.A.???

I’m in Ct. High taxes have killed the state. Population decreasing. I’m headed to SC.

OK, I’m a visionary, so I’ll give you my opinion:

That opinion is - cut California from America, let it go its own way.
Give it back to Mexico if we have to, at least the southern 2/3 of the state.

I’m absolutely serious.

Think of an America withOUT California, if that happened right now:
- Would the resultant 49-state America be more liberal, or more conservative?
- Would the resultant 49-state Congress of the United States be more liberal, or more conservative?
- Would conservatives’ chances in the Electoral College in subsequent presidential contests be better, or worse?
Stop laughing - just consider that for a while.

Actually, since it comprises the heart of “emerging Atzlan”, eventually I expect California to “go that way” anyway.

California was once the Golden State, offering promise and prosperity to the growing nation, as we turned to watch its beautiful sunsets on the Pacific.

That is no more. If its course is left unchecked and unchanged, California will be the weight that drags this country downward towards our own “national sunset” - and with that, perhaps the sunset of freedom itself.

I say let California go. And I mean it.

- John
(apologies to California Freepers. You’re smarter than the average folk - don’t you see what’s coming?)

What gives?

California gets a steady stream of the best and brightest legal immigrants (and young professionals from other states), who pay no attention to the doom and gloom prophecies and just go out and get things done. The California Legislature seems like a gang of amateurs to them, compared to the corrupt leadership in their own countries. Thus California has been able to stay afloat and even thrive through a series of increasingly feckless state government decisions - it takes advantage of enthusiastic brains cultivated in other places and backs them up on the low end with plenty of cheap illegal labor. But that party will have to end some time.

The startling thing is that these people VOTE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT. So anywhere these people go high taxes, the powerful environmental lobby and excess regulations are sure to follow....
