Bush must've added a "Food" dial to his gigantic machine that also controls gasoline prices, hurricanes, the number of homeless people, and the global climate.

You're making fun, but they DO see everything as controlled from the "top down", and have no concept of bottom up control by the free market.

Well, time for this DUmmie to stop complaining and start GIVING.

Until then, have a big steaming cup of STFU.

I know. That's one of the things that absolutely frustrates me the most. I'm not Pres. Bush's biggest fan....but if I'm going to assign blame (for instance, for the fact that milk is expensive), then I'll at least put it in the right place (not President Bush).

How angry must these people be to spend their lives shouting at the rain?

I got hostile in the toilet paper section.......... ...12 roll pack of my usual brand - $8.76. Screw that - it goes down the crapper, ferchrissakes, I'll be damned if I pay that. Family will have to get used to flimsy I guess. Meat aisle should have a loan counter right next to it so I can take out a mortgage to get some damn chops..... Milk - hell, a few bucks more and I could get a dang cow..... eggs - do we have a shortage of laying hens? I hate to go to the grocery store anymore - it seems these days we'll have the same menu rotation week after week - but I guess we're lucky to still be able to eat something

Maybe the high price of Diesel to deliver all your products is causing the price hikes...DUmmies ever think of that?

“Soup? I can get cans at 2 for a buck.”

Soup? I can make a pot of soup for a buck and eat it for a week; in fact, on the seventh day, with a cup of rice, I can make a meal on the pot scrapings. I can feed myself on $10.00 a week. Anybody can.

Heck, these crybabies should try panhandling for food money; some of the beggars here in Toronto clear $200 per day tax free! That’s a lot of cantaloupe.

Best produce deal of the year for me was the HUGE papayas selling for a buck each. My only regret was not buying even MORE of them.

“We don’t moan, we do something.”

I wonder how many of those DU posters are graduates of public schools where they got credit for demonstrating? They seem to think it ought to work in the real world as well.

It always made sense to me that those who took the time to research and chase after good deals found them, and those who demanded convenience paid a premium for it. Of course it seems simple to make it worthwhile to the researchers to clue you in so everyone wins, but that seems a tad complicated for those posters.

They, and the country as a whole, would be much happier and more prosperous if they rid themselves of the zero-sum school of thought.

But, it is amusing, that their complaints are a direct result of their favored government policies.

You know, P-J, I covered this issue a couple of weeks ago somewhere else.

The primitives on Skins’s island have been moaning and groaning and bellyaching for some time now, about the high cost of groceries and gasoline.

The retail price of groceries and gasoline have multiplied circa 3 times since 1981, the last time I bought marijuana.

In 1981, I paid $10 for a one-ounce baggie of marijuana.

I guess the price now, for the same-sized bag of marijuana, is circa $160-175, at least a 16x increase.

Groceries and gasoline up 3x.

Marijuana up at least 16x.

However, one looks in vain on Skins’s island, for bonfires started by primitives complaining about the high price of dope, and the excess windfall profits of the marijuana industry.

I can’t figure it out, but maybe it’s just me.

Why do these goofballs go out of their way to make me feel so superior?

You got me. They can't spell, punctuate, or go more than two sentences without showing their ignorance by cursing.

I know the level of the average reader on FR and I am embarrassed to miss-type, double-post, or make a spelling error before such educated people. By what passes for discussion on their board, they must sit on the couch in their skivvies and belch.

They have been intentionally dumbed down, and are ignorant of economics.

Any basic economics training would dispell half of the fallacies that the left depends on for power (thus the intentionality of keeping people ignorant).

I intend to instill 2 basic foundations in my kids to make them “impervious to nonsense”. Biblically based moral absolutes and economic theory.

Why are we not taking to the streets with this? I despise this administration. DESPISE them. I hope they pay in hell.

Jeez, Don't you know DUmmies that the Food companies are a division of Halliburton?? Yes, Bush/Cheney/Halliburton are forcing farmers to raise corn for ETHANOL - instead of using corn for food because Bush/Cheney/Halliburton doesn't want to DRILL in the USA or in ANWR.

Psst, Nany Pelosi and Harry Reid also want you guys to STARVE, too. The DBM doesn't want you to know that Harry & Nancy are stealing your food, so they can pay off their voters for votes.

eggs - do we have a shortage of laying hens?

I'm sorry but the egg producers went offshore to find cheaper egg laying hens. Tyson Foods decided to join Halliburton to raise food prices - because they are GREEDY.

milk is at $4.00.

CVS has it for $3.69. I think Sav-A-Lot is the same price. DUmmies, ever thought of checking all stores - I do from Sav-A-Lot to Publix to CVS & DollarTree. I even go to the SURPLUS place for JAR and CAN GOODS.

Seriously...people should be out in the streets NOW.

yes you should -- TO PROTEST the DEMS, they are the REAL CAUSE of the food price rise.

No they can’t.
When they are typing from Mom’s basement, there is no kitchen. Only the microwave and whatever magically appears in the fridge upstairs.

How can you ask them to make real meals when they are too busy living “Second Life”?

These people are probably ticked that Mommy stopped them from their Emo life to pick out their breakfast cereal at the store.

The people who complain loudest about the cost of a gallon of gas at $3.75 are willing to pay $15 a gallon for “designer water” in a tiny bottle, when I can drink out of the tap for free.
