I saw the flag used by Hezbollah and it occurred to me that it looked as if it was inspired by the movie poster for the Otto Preminger film EXODUS.

Very odd...that was a movie that portrayed the Jews creating the state of Israel in a very heroic light.

It turns out that the poster for EXODUS was created by Saul Bass.

You take a look and tell me if you see the simularity:

Why not? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It was like after George Bush flew into Baghdad on that Thanksgiving morning a few years ago. Notice how many of the coalition leaders subsequently engaged in their own "surprise" visits to their people in Baghdad?

There is dynamic leadership, and there are the imitators.

It is similar in a way, but I wouldn't call it stealing.

I read in the WSJ a few months ago about how some Muslims in the food industry wanted to standardize halaal. They were influenced by how their Jewish counterparts handled kosher sixty years ago. Not wanting to be forever half a century behind, they modeled their plans after the success of the Jews.

I remember laughing at a response:

Interviewer: Did you take a page out of the Jewish book?
Answer: We borrowed the whole book.
