Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 358 members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 75th place (with 1009 active CPUs - 55,700 completed Work Units and 9.75 million points).
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 20 folding threads)

AND, our #20 would rank #4 on the DUmmoes list. We would need a top "68" to get down to their 20th.

Congrats on breaking the big 3,000,000. Not a bad way to leave August.
Also congrats on beating the DUmmies to 3 million. I hope that they can stay in the top 100 of daily producers.
And the FReeper Folding team will indeed turn in their best month ever. We are already at 1,760,000 with three reports left in the day.
Now, to hit 2,000,000 points for September!

And at the 6 pm update, Klutz scores 3450 pts, while the dummies get 678 as a team.
Klutz may beat them to 3.5M
ROFLMAO !!!!

Woo Hoo.... and it looks like I beat them to 3 million by at least 97,000 points. Going for the 4th million now. I'd love to hit 5 million at my 1st year anniversary of folding, late December. Guess I better get off my ass, and borg another couple dozen machines.
Next goal up is to break the top 100 of all time folders. That looks to be about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks away at the current rate.
breaking 2 million team points in a month isn't that hard, when you think about it. Take this months average, and add 8,000 pts per day, and we got it whupped, easy. Or, just get the team average up to 67,000 sustained points per day. Gawd, what I wouldn't give, to shoot a pair of energy czars right now... Turning perfectly functional computers off at 4pm is just so sinful... or something.
Isn't it about time for a new thread? Seems like this one is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Take care, and take care of the laundry.

It's my mission in life. A dirty job, but somebody has to do it. I'd like to think, that my existance, just bothers the living hell out of some of them over there on the dark side.
I exist, therefore, I fold.

Basic instructions:
Make two folders.
Download the console client .exe in to one of those folders.
Copy the client exe in to the other folder.
Double click the client exe in the first folder. Answer the setup questions, and set the machine id to 1.
Double click the client exe in the second folder. Answer the setup questions, and set the machine id to 2.

how do i start the -config option I'm assuming that you're starting the FAH504-Console.exe from a DOS prompt.
If so, just type: FAH504-Console.exe -config

My brother shurato has made it up to number 14 on the producers' list - and that's only with one dual core CPU! Woot!

So, forgive me if I missed this from an earlier post, but what's your brother running that he's getting 290 points-per-day out of each core? That's almost triple the daily production of my 2.26G P4, and more than double what my 2.8G P4 is putting out.

I believe he's running a dual core 2.8Ghz Athlon FX-57. I'm sure he has at least 2GB of RAM, running on Windows XP 64. The 64-bit OS shouldn't have any effect on performance, but the two 2.8Ghz cores do, apparently. The speeds of AMD procs aren't directly analagous to Intel chips. A 2.8G AMD proc is much faster than a 2.8G Intel proc.
With that being said, I do expect his production to drop some. I think he just had a few really good days where WUs finished up at the right time, because otherwise, it's too good to be true. I hope I don't jinx him by saying that! He's a liberal, but he's really enjoying helping us out and climbing up the ranks.
