Well, I've spent the day DUmpster diving to see if I could fill in some missing gaps in the timeline. I feel like I've escaped from an insane asylum. The number of conspiracy theories those people believe in just boggles the mind. Anyone coming on to one of those posts trying to be rational is set upon by a pack of rabid dogs. Those folks truly believe Bush is responsible for the anthrax mailings. Evidently, the reporter that died was doing an expose on the Bush twins. Bush is bisexual and a homophobe depending, evidently, what day of the week it is. They're absolutely enamoured with seeing images of their silly little protests in the media. They seem convinced that normal people are going to actually be convinced by fuschia-haired, overly pierced morons carrying BUSH=HITLER signs. They honestly believe (and this just shows their level of delusion) the majority of the military voted for Kerry and all of us Freepers over here who support the war and the troops don't have friends or family over there fighting. You'd think everyone in Afghanistan and Iraq is a dumocrat if you listened to them...except since they don't believe in violence or guns the war on terror would be over by now cuz they'd all be dead. They hate the Swifties with almost as much passion as they hate Bush...it's such a deep hatred it's almost scary. They're obsessed with exit polls...there must be hundreds of threads devoted to exit poll data...like everyone emerging from their polling place is going to lie on their ballot but tell the truth to some college student holding a clipboard. They've busied themselves with going through reams and reams of voter roles...Lord knows why...I think they believe they can glean voter intent from them. They desparately look for any detail that might be an impeachable offense. Congressman Conyer is just as nutty as they are...to anyone here who's represented by him, you have my deepest sympathy. I thought Ron Wyden was bad, but he looks positively conservative next to that loon. Despite all this (and honestly, this is a VERY SMALL portion of the Altered Estates of DU) they actually believe the majority of Americans are on "their" side and that we're afraid to face reality. I think I need a bath AND a shower.

LOL - have you visited the Astrology forum in the DUmp lately? There was one thread talking about "something" that one of the self-proclaimed DUmmie psychics "picked up" about Cliff Arnebeck, that he will win a "very big" case dealing with the election (more "fraud" garbage), December timeframe. This DUmmie asks if any of the other psychics "picked up" anything like that.

Another DUmmie in the thread said that he/she/it had done a tarot card reading after the election, and that he/she/it saw the Bush "regime" falling (not immediately). He/she/it said that although the reading didn't show Kerry in the White House, it showed things playing out in the courts and a "big turnaround" in the media, as well.

<*yawn*> Another variation on the "I Belieeeeeeeeeve" threads.

Actually I saw two things at the DUmp that truly astonished me. First on a thread on Zimbabwe they had people on there defending Mugabe and if the people starving were the price to be paid for kicking the out whitey thats ok with them.

Secondly, the mother charged with allowing two men to rape her daughter and best friend wasn't really guilty of anything.

I swear I need to throw my computer in the tub after each time I go over there.

here is part of the reading (which i did on 11/10/04), and i posted on this forum back in november:

The 8 of swords in the 10th very much indicates foul play concerning the election – it is a card representing interference. I also see it as an indication of the Bush administration eventually being caught, even people going to prison. Although I’m not entirely sure if this will happen in time for Kerry to become president. The King of Cups in the 11th might represent Kerry, or someone else who is appointed after the 9 & 8 of swords plays out. I think the 9 of swords in the 9th indicates some very painful court cases – perhaps with all the current media inattention, when the criminality of the Bush administration comes to light, in court, a lot of people may become very disillusioned and upset. It could even be the international court. Things might really crumble for them.

Economically, I’m thinking that things won’t be so bad. The 3 of pentacles in the 4th house leads me to believe that unemployment will stay pretty low and The Star in the 8th makes me think that even though there is talk of countries selling off US debt that this won’t manifest. I am a little confused by the Page of Wands & Page of Swords in the 2nd and 6th respectively. What I’m thinking this might mean is that the way people begin to frame the deficit and taxes will be in terms of young people and future generations: “the birth tax” as George Lakoff put it. I think this will be pushed in the news quite a bit.

I find the Ace of Cups in the 3rd interesting. On one hand I see this as very positive, the media kind of redeeming itself. But at the same time this was one of those instances where the image looked like something else – the rider-waite deck shows a hand holding a cup with 5 streams flowing from it. I got the impression of one central agency disseminating information that flowed out in seemingly different streams, and almost sugar coating things. I think that both these interpretations might be possible.
