In another display of the "Main Stream Media's" irresponsible reporting, Newsweek acknowledged errors in a story alleging U.S. interrogators at Guantanamo Bay desecrated the Quran. The accusations lit a fuse in Afghanistan left 15 dead and scores injured.

The original story alleged that a prison guard tried to flush the Quran down a toilet in an attempt to intimidate prisoners and that military investigators had confirmed the accusation. Newsweek Washington Bureau Chief Daniel Klaidman said the magazine believes it erred in reporting the allegation. Quite an error I would say. . .

It's hard to hold yourself accountable if you feel you are above reproach such as the MSM does.

The right to keep and bear arms is not an absolute. If you use a firearm irresponsibly there are legal consequences. Why should the right of a free press be different? Print lies; lose your right to print. Spend some time in prison. Compensate your victims.

Maybe this scandalous behavior merits a boycott of Newsweek.

I wonder how many deaths the "MEDIA" is responsible for in terms of "unintended consequences".

Maybe we have found the weapons of mass destruction at last.

NewsLeak about to justify their story by using NYSlimes and Washington comPost as having made similar charges a year or so ago so they were prepared to believe the information they had.

Perhaps it's time to find this so called administration source and send him to Gitmo for a little r and r.

All the ways Newsweek tries to justify their actions, will not bring back the lives that the story cost. Any inflamatory story of this nature will spark similar reactions in the middle east and must be properly verified before publication. This is worse that Rather's Memogate, in that one, nobody died.
