Mars Rovers a Fraud

Mars Rovers a Fraud Procto News Service, May 8, 2005) In yet another example of government shadow budgets and Republicans run amok, this exclusive photo of technicians working around the Mars rover proves conclusively that the Spirit and Opportunity Rovers are not on Mars at all - but in the middle of a movie studio. You will remember that during the height of the Vietnam War, the Apollo program and it's shadow budget paid for clandestine military expenditures. Looks like the Republicans are doing the same thing to pad the military budget in the middle of another quagmire. (PNS has uncovered the identities of the two people in the photo - despite the fact that they are attempting to disguise themselves by wearing surgical masks. Standing is Condie Rice, and crouched is Karl Rove. In the upper right hand corner of the photo, the eye of George Bush can be seen, peering from behind the set).

LOL, yeah that's what it proves. NASA would never make models.

Procto News Service, posted by donprocto himself, huh?

I am afraid it's going to be bye, bye.

NASA builds working prototypes and models and replacements for its equipment so they can work on them and do diagnostics while the actual vehicles are on the surface in service. All it proves is that they are being wise in their technical prlanning for such a difficult misison.

I am against government abuse and stretch myself...but I have a news flash for you...

We did land on the moon...and the rovers did land on Mars. Both another testament to American enginuity and know how.

Have you checked the legality of using a NASA owned photo and calling it exclusive?

They needed to replicate the terrain in order to test the rovers. Duh.

I've been in that Mars Landscape room a few times. Its at Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the doors to the observation room are always open, (if you can get past JPL security). The folks who work the room try very hard to maintain an up to date environment, and I think that includes humidity controls and induced dust. The room smells different. Maybe it smells kinda like Mars.

There is an open house at JPL next weekend. Saturday and Sunday the gates are open to the public and the state of the art in space science will be on display. Access to the room pictured is assured. Come early to avoid lines.
