[history]
Dear Free Republic Friends,
My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.
So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):
I have poisoned the well.
By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.
By my intellectual ineptitude.
By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.
By my biting every hand that fed me.
By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.
By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.
Evidenced by:
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.
BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.
Conclusion:
It is a sad day.
For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.
So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?
I can hardly wait.
Is it the 18th yet? Tick, tock.

I doubt most people really care who the mods are - you are doing a job and most of us only occasionally get a little slap on the hand anyway........ (ok, just a reminder to watch it......lol).......

BadJoe says on LP
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
Is he drunk? He really thinks that 100% of the people who have signed up at FR activley post now? There's no way. Its easy to go thru by posters sign up number to find many aren't posting.

I'm right in the middle of the tenure process nightmare. What's left of my brain consists of mush. :-)

We don't see much of you any more. What happened? You get married? in jail? What? See 1084. Actually, jail sounds nice right about now. :-) Thanks for asking. I really do miss keeping up with current events on this place. It's like crack cocaine, isn't it?

You mods ain't such bad guys. I couldn't do your job. It's gotta be like walking into a fraternity house in the middle of a food fight and trying to figure out who threw the first pork chop.
Sometimes I get the definite impression of bias, especially when you don't do what I think you should do. But ... life doesn't always go the way I think it should. Keep doing what you're doing, because somehow you often get it right.

Well, I got up early and have read this entire thread! One could ask why I don't find something more productive to do on a Saturday morning, but that's a topic for another discussion.
I think the moderators do a fine job under very trying circumstances, and I have no complaints. I have no idea why BadJoe is acting like this, but it seems to me to be unnecessary.
Dales, I am glad to know you are still around!

FWIW, I think you guys/gals do a great job of moderating; it's something I could never do in a million years. Well, I guess I could do it, but I couldn't do it fairly.
Moderators became a necessity after we were invaded by the trolls a few years ago. Unfortunately, we were a victim of our own success. Any time you have an entity that is influential in changing the dynamics of political races and exposing the clinton's crimes, that entity is going to become a target of attack.
WHATEVER comes out from BadJoe (or anyone else) makes no difference to me. I'll be putting a check in the mail regardless. The fact that Jim has the best site on the web and has always done the best job he could under difficult circumstances overrules ANY petty interpersonal squabbles that come up. I wish all of you the best, including you, BadJoe.
And y'all keep Rush in your prayers. You realize, of course, that most treatment centers allow no outside contact or communication with things that could interfere with your recovery. He must be having one HECK of a battle with his Freepin' addiction right about now. :-)

What the hell am I doing up so early? I just figured you were up really late.
To: JerseyHighlander
What does your carefully-crafted explanation have to do with the fact that the individual you are referring to used his complicated and intricate "system" to repost material that had previously been deleted by the mods in another thread? THAT was the infraction.
I honestly don't give a fig if somebody uses multiple windows, multiple computers, or even stands on their head and clucks like a chicken while reading FreeRepublic. Its when that someone does so in order to capture and repost material that was deleted by the mods, to troll other posters, or to flout the rules here that it starts to get a bit ridiculous.

"(Those who believe in this place, please, please, PLEASE become a monthly donor. Just $3 a month, by reoccurring credit card. Simple, paniless, and you will feel great seeing the charge.)"I have always been a little uncomfortable about telling people where my money goes, but this is a special case. I have been a monthly donor of $25 to FR for over two years. For me, it's the right thing to do, and it is a painless way for me to help support the work that Free Republic does.
JimRob, thank you. You have given me my window on the world (I live in a TINY rural town in Southern MN). Your vision for Free Republic is a great one. Thank you for your hard work and diligent care of all of us here. FR is my default homepage, even though I have a website of my own and two blogspots. Thanks again, Jim.
So, Freepers (especially newbies), jump onto the bandwagon. By becoming a monthly donor, you show your support for JimRob and the work of Free Republic, which has grown and prospered in the three years I've been a member. Believe me, if I can do it, you can.

"One could ask why I don't find something more productive to do on a Saturday morning...."
No ma'am, I'm not going to ask that question, as I've just finished reading the entire thread as well. (Asking "Don't you folks ever sleep?" is another thing.)
I've heard a reference or two about LP in the past, most notably on the first Freepathon thread for this quarter. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this thread, so I'm posting a link for your review. It is the epitomy of cruelity.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/993189/posts?page=1382#1382 Thank you Mr. Robinson for your seemingly thankless efforts on behalf of a Free Republic. I salute you.
