NEVER FORGET
.."TOM McSELFISH =
...Gov. BustaMENCHA"
........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.
...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.
...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

but he's still blasted as being "pro-abortion" by many conservatives. So he opposes abortion on demand?

Yet the democrats manage to win while staying true to their own base. Do you contend that conservative principles are less marketable to the mushy middle than liberal ones?In California, they are. In Alabama, Texas, Florida, etc they are not. I am all for running more conservative candidates in states where their positions are closer to the mainstream, but you have to adjust somewhat in more liberal states like California. Even the Democrats have been known to run pro-lifers for office in the deep south.

Why don't you think ARNOLD is the spoiler candidate sent in to sabotage the recall?Because Arnie can win without you and McC can't win at all.

So he opposes abortion on demand? He supports abortion controls, which must mean that he does not like the practice. He is also willing to carry the pro-life movement's water on at least two of the few major abortion policy issues that could be dealt with at the state level. The status-quo, supported by the Democrats, is abortion on demand.

If Arnold has 80% of the votes according to the polls, then there's no reason for McClintock to drop out - Arnold will win hands down.

I guess you & I disagree on that point. As silly as it may seem to you, conservatism can still sell in the state that not too long ago birthed some pretty conservative trends, even by national standards, IF the state party would get behind it.
BTW I agree the partial birth abortion issue is a good point in Arnold's favor.

"A pro-life vote for Tom = abortions with Cruz!"
A vote for Arnie is a vote for an abortion supporter.

.."TOM McSELFISH vs. AHHnold Schwartzenfraud...but Ahhnold isn't selfish, eh? LOL I haven't seen Arnold bash McClintock once - he's running against Davis/Bustamante. McClintock, on the other hand, is doing his darnedest to defeat Arnold and appears to completely ignore the purpose of the recall. I have yet to read about him or his Taliban followers making a negative comment about Davis/Bustamante, just Arnold.
As for your continued arguments about Arnold's being too far left, isn't this whole recall about California's financial situation NOT ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES?!!! The Tombots' continued statements that Arnold WILL raise taxes isn't borne out by anything he's said.

"Have the rules suddenly changed for conservatives?"
I understand what you are saying and agree. On the other hand, they do have a much shorter time period to get their message out than would usually be the case.

You somehow think that if Arnie is gov. of CA that the state will suddenly vote for Bush in 2004 or the Republican in 2008?
You are naive.

He supports abortion controls, which must mean that he does not like the practice.Whatever it is he likes, my Savior has forbidden me from voting for a candidate who supports the continued legality (albeit "controlled") of baby-killing when a pro-life candidate is running. Your mileage may vary.
