"TOM McSELFISH = Gov. BustaMENCHA"
9/14/2003 | ALOHA RONNIE Guyer

Posted on 09/14/2003 10:05:38 PM PDT by ALOHA RONNIE

NEVER FORGET

.."TOM McSELFISH =

...Gov. BustaMENCHA"

........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.

...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.

...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

Signed:.."ALOHA RONNIE" Guyer / Republican Convention Witness

NEVER FORGET

Yes...pretty amazing logic isn't it? It amazes me how people of "principle" would rather lose 100% than win 50%.

Oh well....it's a free country! (thank the Lord!)

If Hillary is nominated (not likely), she carries Kalifornistan no matter who is in charge. Sorry.

I agree with you BillyBoy, people in CA are incapable of distinguishing the fraud inherent within all the clintoid campaigns. They must think the clintons will "give them something."

Yes indeed! Thank the Lord that we live in a country where one is free to literally cut off his nose to spite his face.

What's remarkable to me is that there is anyone out there who still doesn't understand that their vote on 'principle' in 1992 led us to 8 years of the most debauched and dangerous President in American history.

Amazing...........amazing!

Neos should be disenfranchised due to their lack of wisdom

Neo-puritans should be disenfranchised due to the narrowness of their sight and their radical intolerance.

VOTE SCHWARZENEGGER - PUMP CALIFORNIA UP

Hey here's an idea: why doesn't Arnold do what the democrats do so well & go out & try to earn those base votes, hm?

Gee skeeter...Arnold is ahead of all other Republicans in the polls. I guess he must be doing something right, huh?

Did you notice there's a democrat in the race too?

Were you also hoping for Clinton to remain in office, so Gore would not be running as an incumbent in 2000? Some things are more important than perfect victory, such as removal of corrupt individuals, and purging from public life, those that are totally incompetent.

Why yes, Skeeter, I did. And did you notice that as long as Tom continues to finish 3rd he will hand the governorship to that very same Democrat. Just like Perot and all other spoliers who stay in the race for their "principles" and hand the election to the opposition.

That is really good thinking, huh?

If I can't win then you can't either! WAAAAA!

SCHWARZENEGGER AND MCCLINTOCK SHOULD DEBATE, ONE-ON-ONE
.

The results from that should determine which one is the better man, and who more fully deserves conservatives' votes.

The loser should drop out and endorse the victor.

The party should unite behind that sole candidate.

Please, your embarrassing us both.

I'll ask again - why doesn't Arnold try to get those conservative votes the old fashioned way - earn them?

Sorry Skeeter...didn't realize that you were so easily embarrased by the truth.

Would you really prefer "Busta" as Governor? It's time for Tom's and his backers, like you, to close ranks and unite behind someone who can beat the Democrat. Tom can't win. Time for you and him to recognize that.

Are you so naive that you believe someone running on a 100% conservative right can win in California in this day and age. Time to face reality and stop whining (yes...whining!) that Arnold does not meet all of your litmus tests.

The difference between McClintock and Perot is that the latter had no consistent principles. He was guided by a personal hatred for GHWB. McClintock stands consistently for his conservative principles. Perot was (presumably still is) not a conservative.

As we've seen here on this very thread, much of the support for McClintock is messianic in flavor. Many conservatives seem to see him as a Jesus-like figure who's standing for the truth against all odds. To abandon him and vote for Arnold or anyone else who is less than "pure" would be like abandoning Jesus, so it's not going to happen.

Now, since this is simply a gubernatorial election, not a messiah election, one can question whether this level of fervor and loyalty is merited or appropriate. But whatever the case, trying to convince certain folks that McClintock can't win so they should vote for Arnold is a losing proposition if there ever was one. My advice to Californians would be to get used to Democrats ruling over you.

*Sigh*

Once again - why doesn't Arnold try to get those conservative votes the old fashioned way?

Its the way politics has ALWAYS been done - you promise to attend to a constituency's issues in exchange for their vote.

Have the rules suddenly changed for conservatives?
